I think remixing needs to be redone on almost every album.. I honestly want the albums to sound similar to Let Me In Your Heart Again. Yes i understand a lot of people don’t like the sound of it, but I do! It just sounds so fresh and modern. That’s what I think should be done[/QUOTE]

I must agree that the drums and bass on LMIYHA sound a lot better than the rest of The Works material, and show how a remix could make some of the albums (certainly Queen, The Works and AKOM) sound better. However, as much as it could improve them, remixed releases would be a waste of time for me.

Pretty pointless doing a remix as an album is a snapshot of a place in time

agreed. the remix concept only works, if some of the "programmed" stuff - bass, drums etc are re-recorded with actual instruments.
then a remix might actually yield something worthwhile.

you would always lose the feeling - impossible to recreate....

accepted. but I think I could live with losing the authenticity if it meant also losing the horrible synthesised instruments of the 80s LPs.
HS, Works and AKOM particularly, sound a bit hollow. it's weird I know, but the "fake" instruments used - even on vinyl seem to remove the "analogue warmth" from the playback.

But you cannot take the 80's out of the 80's. Thats what they wanted to do with Mr Bad Guy and it did not work imo

to a large extent you can. because those synth bass and drums were very much an "80s thing". remove those and you have a sound that could be of whichever decade the new production/remixing is geared toward.

Agreed - which I why I said it would be a waste of time!
