You would think that having an archivist for what? 20 years? QP would have at least catalogued ALL tracks, all versions of songs, outtakes, unreleased tracks etc. Gone through the very acetate, tape and record from all the recording sessions they did (from 1970 including any pre-Queen material that existed up to the Made In Heaven sessions from 1993-94?).
I do not know why it would take too long to sort out work for one album when all the material should already be sorted, collated and ready to put together. Can you imagine how long it would take if they tried doing something on the scale of the 2 Pink Floyd sets (early and late boxsets with 27 CDs in each!)
Unless as some have stated Greg doesn’t have access to all the tapes and still has to wait to go through most of it when Brian or someone else in QP decides he can look at it!
Another reason could be they are doing what they did on the NOTW boxset and combining versions of alternate tracks as An Alternative Miracle album?

It's a shame to know that the release of this box set has been postponed. Don't wait either this year or even next.
