The ratings you gave the Innundo songs don't really signify a "masterpiece".
Just sayin'.

All gods people is very much underrated. This song show a lot the power vocals of Freddie, i wished there would be stems of his vocal only recording. Can someone fx that ? I am afraid this song is too much related to faith and God. Please call it Africa by night. Maybe the song will have another meaning and wiol interest more people.
In total I will rate this song at same level as The Miracle song and Innuendo song or somewhere between these songs.
I wished this was a hit single,

Yes maybe you're right... Unfortunately there are a couple of songs which lower album's rating but other than that there are some truly impressive and outstanding tracks which only by themselves make me consider this album like a masterpiece ;)

Speaking only about song quality I could give Innuendo a really honest 7/10 rating but if I have to consider all the circumstances, production and band studio performance that album is an easy 9/10. The Miracle is a 7/10 so only a +0.5 bonus.

For some reason I've never loved Was It All Worth It. I like it but it doesn't rank high in my favourite Queen songs list.

I've always thought was it all worth it should have been a single instead of the miracle.

It's possible that individual songs don't score to highly, but the overall feeling of a record surpasses the individual tracks. Half my favourite albums have this unusual feature.

The result is surprising even for myself

With a couple of exceptions, that's pretty much the exact opposite of what I'd give them. It's quite fascinating how much we get as individuals from this band.

pittrek No wonder the result is surprising to yourself, because some of your ratings are bizzare. Slightly Mad 1 ?? The pish poor Headlong 8 ?? The great, atmospheric Ride the Wild Wind 2, All God's People 0 ?? And most shockingly, the gorgeous, restrained Days of Our Lives - 1. You also put WIAWI on par with TSMGO, while the first one is just a very good deep cut, though not everyone may be convinced by the slightly overblown instrumental part, while the latter was an instant classic with some of the best music, vocals and lyrics they ever committed to tape.

Yeah but a person doesn't like a song for the same reasons as another song. I adore roast beef monster munch and strawberry cheesecake ice cream but for different reasons.

I agree, but at the same time, if pittrek was a music critic, such stuff would get him fired. Music and the way it makes us feel is very subjective, but there is room for some objectivity too. You just cannot objectively say that Days of Our Lives is a ghastly song which deserves a 1-star rating.
dysan · Member since
Yeah agreed. But this is our opinions right? For me, I never listen to that song primarily because I find it too bland and syrupy as a song. But also because when I do, I usually cry uncontrollably because of the huge emotional weight attached to it.

So I guess as a song 3/10, it's place in the Queen cannon 9/10
