A perfectly normal behavior for someone whose psychological growth stopped at an early age.
The real world does not instantly respond tho his demands, like all the Shirley-Smiths, Macraes, Fredrikssons and the rest of his "friends" from the QP bubble.
When you are so complex (and complexed) like Brian, it's not a smart move tell someone to fuck off without knowing who he is first.
Maybe he is a fellow astrophysicist, an environmentalist, a militant for the rights of the native people, or a stereo photography aficionado.
Just assuming he is an impertinent rock fan is not consistent with Brian's self created image of homo universalis.

100% agree with Brian here: the cameraman was repeatedly asked not to film them, and he kept doing so. Brian was right to be annoyed.[/QUOTE]
It is one thing being annoyed. But he seems to have hit him and calling him names.
I think he is an arrogant parrott for ages now and completely out of touch with the real world.....
The polite mask is off finally it seems....

Did Brian actually hit him? He made a swipe for the camera, but I can't tell if he hit they guy. Sorry I'm posting on a tiny screen and watching the video again, I can't really tell..
I'd think I'd under Brian more if it was a private moment with family, and the guy was recording that, but it didn't look private. In this day and age cameras are everywhere and that can be a good and bad thing.
I'm shocked reading from another poster here that Brian told fans to f off. I'm no prude, but I doubt those fans were breaking laws, maybe they were just hoping for an autograph.

Brian is simply doing too much for a 72 year old man, he is spinning around the globe like a loony and the only way is disaster in the end be it depression or stress looming in the background.
He needs to slow right down before its too late.
Lets face it he has been touring since 2012 so its time to stop and tale it easy now and let fat Lambert find his own fame.

prophecy aside, it's a weak argument fella.
in this age of extreme "on the road" home comforts, age is no longer a validity for "stopping touring"

To be fair to Brian May, whatever he has said and done in the press, whatever he has said about the movie, he's always very gracious in meeting fans, and tries to make sure everyone gets the selfie or the autograph they want.
I've met him only once, very briefly, when I was 18, it was just after a concert and he was trying to get away fairly quickly, but at the same time making sure he gave some time to us. I could hardly even call it a proper meeting.
Brian has always seemed quite fragile, and uncomfortable with the attention, and yet at the same time he (of course, and rightly) uses the press and attention to his advantage.
If he doesn't want a camera in his face, he has the right to say so. Regardless of whether he has been public property for 50 years, he is still a human being and if he gets angry at someone filming him, then he has that right. None of us own Brian May or any other member of Queen, and none of us has the right to decide how he should react to being filmed.
Brian May has an off day. So what. When was the last time anyone on this forum had an off day? Probably pretty often....

Brian had every right to be annoyed, he felt intruded upon and asked nicely for the filming to stop. And I can see how he felt like switching to a phone video seemed like an underhanded way to keep at it. But there is no reason to act like he did, especially going over and taking a swipe at the phone. Nothing justifies that, being irritated, angry, tired, aging....whatever. I love Brian, I am a huge fan, read all the books and interviews, even bought a red special. He’s an amazingly talented, smart man. His reaction was just wrong, no excuses. He’s an adult, and you just don’t do that.

@Brenski Firstly i was not putting my point across as an argument because on this thread it is just a serious discussion.
Age may be one thing but health wise Brian is not really a well man, he suffered that prostate scare 3 to 4 years ago and his knee operation a while back, and so with that in mind he should really stop been greedy with touring a chill out.
He must have been around the globe with Fat Lambert 6 times and still wants to bore fans with the karaoke greatest hits tour, well life in the studio would be more chilled for Brian now !
A new solo album would make more sense than faking the name Queen around the globe !

Given the multiple warnings, I feel he had every right to be annoyed. And once the reporter put the camera down, only to then bring out the phone, he had every right to be angry. What is wrong, though, is making a grab (either at the cameraman, or camera - we can't tell) and name-calling. He should know better.
Now, regarding the people who have seen Brian be nice one day and a bastard the next - why are you trying to meet him so much? Once you've met him, you've met him. I met him once in 2011, and I don't feel the need to hound him for another meeting. I'd get pissed seeing the same people wanting something from me on a regular basis. How many autographs and photos do you need?
Star* · Member since
What puzzles me is Brian knew fans were around asking for autographs snapping pics etc..... and to be honest it is not everyday you see Brian May in Brisbane
so the camera man was in awe seeing Brian, but for some strange reason Brian snapped, and he has gave a very bad impression of himself to the Australia press now.
He needs to apologise especially trying to push the guy or snatch his phone from him.
When you are a rock star people are not going to blank you and Brian needs a reality check on this, but its ok when he needs the press to promote Badger killing or
to promote his fat Lambert pet !

must be an awful part of the job of any musician who is as famous as Brian.
99,9% of the MANY stories from 1973 onwards all say the same thing; he is a very nice guy.
He's not 35 years anymore. Even though he travels like a king, the road must take its toll for a man his age. Combined with being sick of having cameras shoved up your face? I understand how he, and anyone else, can lose it.
Too bad for everyone involved
