Only they know all the things that happened, but maybe Brian reacted too much after a long rehearsal.
He was being filmed in a way he has been filmed a lot of times before, public place, meeting people... unless the camera man used bad words.
If the camera just filmed quietly and Brian felt annoyed, a big reaction was not really needed.
People in their 40's or 60's deal with that quietly.
So only he may know if he did wrong or not...

Mr May over reacted and sounded like a stroppy child "you go away now" the camera guy was not being intrusive and backed off, Freddie once said with regards to the media and fame your public property Elton has said similar things. As soon as Brian got physical he lost the argument, his head is so far up his own backside since Freddie passed away, Brian thinks he can pick and choose his press, this is the media mask slipping.
I'm a huge fan but Brian is very experienced with the press and knows how the machine works he should of ignored the news camera who we're reporting on Brian's band and tour and he should just levitate from his limo to his fans and kept silent. I think He was in one of his stroppy tart tantrums and took it out on the camera guy, would he have done it in the US? I think not. Had he grabbed my phone I would of decked him. He signed up to this fame thing knowing what goes with it, there are people around the world starving and homeless and this old fanny is whining about a news camera. He's only jumping on the celebrity bandwagon with regards to Greta Thunberg (activist)Mr May stated a few years ago he did not believe in climate change whatsoever. No wonder Freddie avoided him in the studio.

Naw, knowing Australian media I'll back Brian on this. He asked him to stop and he didn't. Not the first to do it and won't be the last!

Explosive tits at 11:00
I see the Aussie media is one-upping the British Pommie media with the thouroughly manufactured and slanted "news" of Channel 7. Murdoch would be proud of Channel 7's race to the "lowest common denominator"
... "and you can see more of that explosive encounter tonight at ..." ...

Brian has been surrounded by cameras for over 50 years so surely this was him freaking out and in my opinion out of order.
Does he not realise It is not everyday Queen (Brian & Roger) land in Brisbane so of course they are going to get noticed
and they have to be polite and willing to be filmed.
Brian needs to apologise and especially doing that to a fellow Queen fan is unforgivable.[/QUOTE]
Really? Unforgivable?
AFAIK he was warned.

I have to agree with Mkls, I saw similar things happen with Brian over the years, too. We saw him being friendly and nice to the first few fans waiting at the backstage door and then freaking out being rude to the next ones without any provocation or bad behaviour on the fans' part. He is just a volatile character. I think it's totally okay to get angry and ask people to put away their cameras, it's not okay to call a human being a "parasite" or even to get physical. That is not okay under any circumstance.

Those who say Brian is the 'sweetest person ever' - I understand that, if you have never seen his other side - back in 1998 I had the opportunity to meet and greet during the AW Tour, 1 to 1 with him for a half an hour - indeed he can be a very charming gentleman who makes you think you are best friend for life, then later I saw him many times telling fans to fuck off, yes with the F letter word - and these were occassions when he was on tour or public apperances etc.. one day he is willing to sign even a toilet paper for 'fans', the next day he might be confronted with 3 fans waiting patiently somewhere backstage or hotel, and it might turn out to be a humiliating disaster for those fans. Years ago I stopped even approaching him for signatures or photos or handshakes - I dont feel like at adult age I want to be humiliated by a 'rock star'.

100% agree with Brian here: the cameraman was repeatedly asked not to film them, and he kept doing so. Brian was right to be annoyed.

It is one thing being annoyed. But he seems to have hit him and calling him names.
I think he is an arrogant parrott for ages now and completely out of touch with the real world.....
The polite mask is off finally it seems....

A perfectly normal behavior for someone whose psychological growth stopped at an early age.
The real world does not instantly respond tho his demands, like all the Shirley-Smiths, Macraes, Fredrikssons and the rest of his "friends" from the QP bubble.
When you are so complex (and complexed) like Brian, it's not a smart move tell someone to fuck off without knowing who he is first.
Maybe he is a fellow astrophysicist, an environmentalist, a militant for the rights of the native people, or a stereo photography aficionado.
Just assuming he is an impertinent rock fan is not consistent with Brian's self created image of homo universalis.

Did Brian actually hit him? He made a swipe for the camera, but I can't tell if he hit they guy. Sorry I'm posting on a tiny screen and watching the video again, I can't really tell..
I'd think I'd under Brian more if it was a private moment with family, and the guy was recording that, but it didn't look private. In this day and age cameras are everywhere and that can be a good and bad thing.
I'm shocked reading from another poster here that Brian told fans to f off. I'm no prude, but I doubt those fans were breaking laws, maybe they were just hoping for an autograph.
