Hi Rainbow!! Great to see your post!!
Thank you! Yes I’m going to try to reframe, but the stamps did get scratched. I have not checked Royal Mail, thanks for the suggestion, thought I heard they were out too, but could be wrong.
Smiled seeing that your clearing out and ready for shredding event too Bravo!
I have (And love) the illustrated lyrics also.
Hysterical about singing wrong lyrics. I love when they show That in movies.
So you will get a kick out of this one.
In Killer Queen, growing up, before internet, before knew the lyrics, I always sang: for cruise job amenities (haha—made sense to me) Instead of
“For Khrushchev and Kennedy“
Glad your still able to work from home. I agree I would like to keep doing it.

I have set up a thread to leave a memory of a time in the previous threads that brought you joy from Thor and Lee’s old threads it’s kinda like a thank you card for their time. If you have time please look through old threads and find a meaningful or funny post that meant something special to you and post please. You only have to post once it’s not an on going thread thanks!!!
This is not for me it’s out of respect for Thor and Lee.please ignore the unkind responses. Pretend it’s a personal thank you card between you and the guys.
JB, hopefully the stamps are not scratched too badly and reframing or finding new glass will do the trick. It’s nice that they refunded, even if it’s a bit damaged at least you have it now at no charge! I am amazed that some places now will refund and let you keep things, it used to be you had to pay to ship it back and let them examine it before you got a refund. Last year I ordered a nice cabinet from Wayfair, it arrived with one corner crunched in. They told me to keep it and refunded it. I didn’t even have to send a picture. My husband was able to fix it (nice to have a builder in the family!) we painted it and you would never know it was damaged. I suppose it costs more to send it back, and there is nothing they could do with it being damaged anyway. I love those kind of unexpected gifts!
I had more fun yard work today, on Saturday we were celebrating my parent’s 62nd wedding anniversary, we took them for a pontoon ride on the lake, then came home for dinner. When my parents left, they couldn’t get out the driveway because a huge tree had fallen down across it! It must have happened while we ate, I’m glad no one was driving under at the time. I’m not sure why it chose that time to fall, we hadn’t had rain or winds or anything. Kind of scary! We cut up enough to get through the other day, and today cut the rest up and hauled it to a pile to burn. I sure hope that is the last of my lumberjack time this year!

Well thanks guys for the reply very kind of you. Sorry to intrude and ask a favor . But you could bet any one of you needed or asked something of me I would try to give or do if it was possible at all have a blessed day!
Still no stamps, but I did get a UPS delivery of chocolate from Bissinger's today. Definitely COVID eating. (and ordering)
Amazon is pretty good about replacing too. I've had a couple of times where the boxes were delivered to a nearby apartment complex mail room which is ridiculous since the address isn't at all similar. When I've contacted Amazon about the situation, they simply sent a replacement.
Rainbow, do you know when you will have to return to the office? I commend all of you who have been working at home. I'm so easily distracted when I'm among my own things I think it would be a challenge. My heart goes out to my fellow teachers who are going to teach remotely this year. Two of my grandkids are starting remote with the option to go in person when the next semester starts. The other three are starting remotely with schools set to open mid-September.
MHZ, congrats to your parents on 62 years! That's quite an achievement! I'm glad to hear no one was hurt by the falling tree!
I had a nice weekend because I finally saw my older son and his family. I hadn't seen them since Christmas! We had a family pool party at my younger son's house.. I had gotten them one of those Inflatabulls and it was hysterical. None of the adults could get on it, but my youngest granddaughter is a champ. She hasn't quite mastered the idea of riding the bull once she's on, and the others can buck her off easily but it was good for lots of laughs. We were supposed to have a couple of hours of rough weather but only had maybe 15 minutes of hard rain. I felt so blessed .We tentatively discussed Thanksgiving and Christmas plans but we want to wait and see how things go.

Katydyd...Sounds like you had a grand time at the family pool party. Glad the weather held up. I'm sure the cousins were excited to play with each other again. I love chocolate, but had never heard of Bissinger's. I had to look it up. I still have 2.5 jars of sea-salt chocolate covered caramels left. I kind of stocked up during the height of the pandemic. I only eat one a day, so they have lasted a long time.
This office building I work in has been locked to the public since mid-March. During normal times, we accept walk-in appointments, along with our regularly scheduled appointments. However, if there are no walk-ins (because people can't get into the building) then there is no point in me being there. I can do my job over the phone and on the computer. I have a key and can go to my office whenever I want, but I have only done that a few times. Regarding schools....Having been a teacher, I can't imagine how stressful this time is for students, parents, and teachers alike. Remote teaching...not something I would have wanted to do. I bet a lot of teachers, who were already on the fence about retiring at the end of this recent school year, have put in their retirement papers.
MHZ....Or should we call you "Pauline Bunyan"? LOL. Will you use the cut-up trees for fire wood, or are you just burning it to get rid of it? 62nd wedding anniversary for your parents! That's wonderful.
JB050...."Cruise job amenities". That totally cracked me up! I always thought the line, "cavier and cigarettes" was "carry-on cigarettes".
Amidds....Are your travel plans finalized yet? I can't believe that September is only 2 weeks away! This summer has gone by too quickly.
At the beginning of the Democratic National Convention this evening, a group of people recited the Preamble to the Constitution. I wish I could say I remember the Preamble having learned about it in school...but the truth is, I remember the words to the Preamble because I heard it multiple times on "Schoolhouse Rock" when I was a kid! A bit of trivia...the lady who wrote that song also wrote the "What would you do for a Klondike Bar?" jingle!

JB, cruise job amenities actually makes sense in a way lol! That's the thing with lyrics, they don't always make sense so, before the internet, how would you know?
MHZ, 62 years is amazing! I'll have to ask the hubby how long his parents were married. I know they were childhood sweethearts and, while his mother has passed, his father will be 104 (?) this year so, very possible they were close to that number. There are days where that seems like way too long to be marries lol
Rainbow, plans are not finalized but narrowing down. Neither airline has cancelled our flight even though France and Switzerland are closed to the US. I actually cancelled our Montreux Airbnb yesterday (crying emoji). We will be cancelling our France Airbnb and excursions this week. I had planned to just spend the time w/the kids in Orlando but, my daughter has said that she will probably be losing her PTO. When we hear for sure on that, we will probably try to book an Airbnb on on of the coasts for a few days and her poor hubby will be forced to hang with me the rest of the time while she works :). We actually get along very well and he's mostly out of work so it won't be bad. Hopefully, we will be able to try again next year!!
Katy, felt the same when I was home - so much to do. I was out about 2 months then went back to the office. I can tell though that many people are still working from home, not really being diligent which leaves me bored at work. Oh well, I count my blessings that my hubby and I are both "essential".

Oh Katy, I did not need to know that I could get chocolate shipped to my door, lol! And Rainbow, I don’t know how you manage the self control to only eat 1 per day. I cannot be trusted around anything sweet.
Your pool party sounds fun Katy, those bulls are hilarious. A friend of mine has 3 teenage sons and they videoed all the boys trying to get on and falling all over. It ended up that she was the only one to make it on and stay there for a bit! I’d like to try it, but I can only imagine how I would flounder around...
Rainbow, I used to love the old schoolhouse rock stuff...Conjunction junction...what’s your function?!
Amidds...that is amazing that your father-in-law is 104! I still can’t believe that my parents have been happily married for so long, when I think about how old I am, and that they have been married even longer...it seems unreachable, ha!
Chevy, I didn’t see any thank you card post? Sadly anything involving them seems to draw some crazy responses so maybe it is better just to let it go and thank the guys personally.
My latest yard saga event...back to cutting the sinister vines that are my nemesis! I found a section leaning off a tree way down into my yard and went to cut it, and it was full of grapes. I had no idea that these vines really produced grapes, I thought they were just an annoying weed. I bet I could have gotten a good bottle of wine out of what I had! Sadly, I just threw them on our burn pile...but the truly annoying part was having to sift through the grass to pick up all the smashed ones that fell off as I cut it. I have a dog that eats everything, and since grapes are poisonous to dogs I had to get them all up or he will sneak over there and eat them.

Hello, folks.
I hope you are all well and keeping safe in this germy world we now find ourselves in.
JB050, I am so very sorry to hear that your stamps arrived damaged like that. You must have felt utterly disappointed, and annoyed. I'm sure that a framed set must have been very expensive, too. I hope that you are able to get some compensation from one company or another. Were they poorly packed ?
Katydyd5 I'll bet it was lovely to see your son and his family after such a long time. Must have felt like years instead on months!
How many of you have pre-ordered Rudi's book? I'm hoping that it does see the light of day, and that it is a good one, filled with nice, warm, genuine, and respectful revelations of our Freddie.
I was relieved when Thor posted the second GoFundMe post re the "Unfortunately" post! My heart sank, and I thought it might all be ' off' !
I hope you are all well and happy. I hope to pop up a bit more than I have been doing. A lot of poopy stuff has been going on in my corner of the gloomy wood last few months.
Take Care and Freddie Hugs

Hi all , it's doughnut but now Patel. I couldn't get into my doughnut account as I forgot my password and the reset isn't working .
Hope you are all well .
Looking forward to Rudi's book but I no longer watch his show as he drives me crazy lol . I too wish he wouldn't go shirtless .
Looking forward to thor and less book too . I feel for them as it seems to be such a frustrating process .
I hope thor is ok as I've been hearing about the extreme heat and power cuts as a result .

OMG what??? What? Fredfie and Doughnut back on the same day? We're getting the band back together lol! Glad to see you both return!
Fredfie, sorry to hear things have been rough, hope it takes a better turn for you.
Doughnut, same on the Rudi thing. I know shirtless is a "thing" but, come on!
You both will have to catch us up on what's been going on with you!

Amidds you beat me to it! FD and Petal!!! I'm so excited to see you guys! I was just taking a quick break and saw you and I had to stop and say welcome. I'll be back later tonight, but I could not let a second pass on this great news.
