Thanks for the pictures FD! I'm intrigued with the picture of Garden Lodge. I can't quite tell what we are looking at. Is it the back of the house? I don' t think we've ever seen that before but it could just be that the angle has me confused. I did check out the FB page. Is it mostly pictures people who visit post? I'd love to make a visit there someday.
JB, bleach is readily available here, but I can't get Clorox Wipes or Clorox Daily Shower Spray. It's making me crazy.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend and Labour Day, if applicable.
Best,
Happy Labour Day weekend to you, too, JB and the others, if applicable.
Happy belated b-day, Freddie! Next year shall be your 75th!
JB, how can you tell when we Americans spend too much time on QZ, Queen and Freddie Mercury? We unconsciously start to adopt British spelling into our American English; e.g., labour, colour, realise, etc. I'm guilty, too! LOL

Re the Garden Lodge photo, I imagine it might be one side of the house.
Maybe the dining room. I remember Peter Freestone said that the big window in the dining room let out onto a big dividing wall. I would think maybe it might be that aspect.

Hi everybody, quite a newbie to the threads here, but been a member for years and have been trying to find all of you who were chatting in the thread about Thor and Lee's 11 years friendship with Freddie as I eventually realised I was never going to catch up with it. I loved that thread, btw, loved seeing anecdotes of Freddie and the NY Daughters, and am really looking forward to the book release.
Anyway, regarding the GL photo, it appears to have been taken sideways on from the front door facing the Mews as you can see the seating area along the wall with a shelter around it. Hope that helps. Btw, I haven't read this thread yet as I wanted to see if it was still active first, but do Thor and Lee join in on this thread too? I was very saddened to find the last page of the other thread taken over by FreddieDearest spreading hatred for Jim Hutton, and now Thor by the look of it, it made me feel sick to the stomach.
I'm from the UK btw, I hope you're all coping well with whatever the situation over Covid 19 is in your countries, it's certainly been a strange and sad year for so many people, I hope it improves soon and wish you all well.

I think maybe I remember your name from Thor and Lee's thread ?
Welcome to Friendly Chat.:-)
Apart from the occasional visit from Billy Goat Gruff the atmosphere is very amicable, and interesting.

FD, I'm assuming we can only see that if we live in GB? The link is password protected.
I think we've talked about this before, but have any of you read Queen: Complete Works by Georg Purvis? He often posts on the queenchat site and because of that I'm more curious about the book now. Amazon reviews are mostly positive though they say the font is small and it's more of an encyclopedia, plus no pictures. . I'm still thinking I'll probably purchase Queen: All the Songs when it comes out, but I wonder if the books are very similar.

Sorry about that. It was the link sent to me with my virtual ticket purchase. I guess with 'guest' removed from the URL it would load. I think it's streaming worldwide.

Hi FreddieDarling,
I just did 1 intro post in the Thor and Lee thread, after skipping to the end, I had only read up to page 74 at that point and was so excited to say hello to everyone that had been posting, so I was pretty sickened when I saw the final posts, but I'm so happy to find some of you here.
That concert streaming sounds really interesting on Saturday, I don't think I've seen that tribute band but I know others who have, so it would be worth tuning in, thanks for the link.
Katydyd5, I recently purchased Queen The Works book and yes it is more of an encyclopaedia without pictures. I haven't explored it much, but if there's anything in particular you'd like to know about it I can take a look and get back to you. Thanks for starting this forum.

I have Queen Complete Works by Georg Purvis.
It's rather dry facts, but I love it nonetheless and it's an invaluable reference for live shows and album data.
Here's a screenshot of a page from my Kindle copy as an example.

FD, Happy Birthday to Mitzi! She's got such beautiful coloring.
Thanks for the screenshot of Complete Works. I'm picture oriented so if I get a book like this it will probably be All The Songs. I'm going to wait and watch the reviews on that one. I'm most anxious to get the Neil Preston book! I happily volunteered to be your guinea pig on that one so I'll give you all a review as soon as I have it sometime in October.
Pushka, I started this thread mostly so that Thor would not have to. Had he started it people would have seen his name and assumed he'd be posting, He does not post here, nor does he read these posts. We just wanted a place where those of us who had become friends could continue to gather and now it's grown into a nice, safe place for the most part. It's really not connected to me in any way other than the original start. Sometimes people seem to think it is "my" thread and I sure don't want that! I was reluctant to attach my name, and I'm just a regular poster.
