I’m glad you guys liked the Moran interview, I believe he was one of Freddie’s closest friends up to the end. Maybe I need to look into Gary Taylor’s book more seriously and get a copy of the newest one. I believe the “I Want It All” book is being done by Greg Brooks, the Queen archivist. Maybe Gary Taylor is helping somehow? I’m pretty sure that book is going to be more of an official Queen release.
I did hear about what happened to Freddie’s koi, it’s one of the reasons I keep such a close eye on my group. I really hope they live a long time, it is so cool to see those bright colors in the pond! We have some people that come to fish in the pond, when they ask permission I tell them if they hook a koi I will come after them, lol!
I am currently watching another trial, this one is for Joel Guy jr., he killed his parents when he was 28, they had cut him off financially because he was still in college and refused to get a job to help support himself. He did some terrible things to them, I won’t go into detail but it is hard to believe anyone could do such a thing, let alone to his own parents!

If you didn’t catch it live, I am guessing it will be posted on YouTube after. Worth a listen, but really all the questions they chose were related to Q+AL performing and the live album being released. None of the questions were from the live chat, all stuff was submitted beforehand and most of the ones they chose were from magazines and journalists. I had submitted a question of whether they would do something for their 50th anniversary, of course it didn’t get answered. I hate to pick on people, but Adam had on the strangest combo of clothing and accessories I have ever seen!
I got notified today that the live album I ordered was shipped, so I have that to look forward to. But I also got notified that I didn’t win the drawing at the Mercury Phoenix Trust...so please tell me that one of you guys won it?!

Rainbow, where did your husband get the playing cards? I'd love a set of those. Currently the only card game I find myself playing is Old Maid, but eventually I think I can teach them something more advanced. Have you looked at the thread Kurgan started here on the Personal Forum? I thought it was an interesting topic, but only a couple of us have picked up on it. Part of the problem may be that so few post on QZ now that no one has seen it. You could post your Queen area on your computer desk and I could see the playing cards!

He's right out there with who he is and so comfortable with himself. He does have gorgeous eyes too. I think I might put the CD/DVD combo on a Christmas list. Then again they often give me Amazon gift cards and I could get it myself. Currently I'm looking for a good Freddie 2021 calendar but no luck.
Saint Jiub, I find it interesting that your Queen purchases are boxed sets. I think you are very knowledgeable about Queen music and perhaps that is why you enjoy the queenchat site. They seem to focus primarily on the music and they all know so much more than I do. It intimidates me to post there. I know this is frowned upon over there, but I tend to like to know just as much about their personal lives. That may be why I'm more inclined to spend my money on books, pictures, concert DVD's and "stuff" in general. I have maybe 8 CDs, but I only listen to music for long periods in my car. In fact I ended up purchasing my vehicle when the lease expired because it has a CD player and they don't put them in cars anymore. My sons call my vehicle the most expensive CD player ever made. Another eye rolling purchase..........LOL!

Don’t get me wrong Katy, normally I love what Adam wears! In fact, his concert outfits are gorgeous, my favorite is the black sort of body suit with the long silver fringe that goes from the shoulders to the floor, it is so cool. But what he had on for the interview were some sweatpants...actually they looked like those pants that weightlifters and wrestlers used to wear, kind of baggy with graphic patterns on them. But the design was st Laurent or Gucci or something, then with a long open jacket, but no shirt. He had on 3 or 4 huge chunky gold necklaces. And none of these pieces were in the same color category! Then, to top it off he had on platform white tennis shoes....which added to the wrestler look for the pants. And then his hair had a “there’s something about Mary” style, lol! Adam is gorgeous and his eyes are just hypnotic, but this outfit was not his best look, at least in my opinion!

John wore a Chicago Blackhawks jacket in those two videos. I did not have a jacket, but I made do with a long sleave Blackhawks jersey worn under a red Black Hawks tee shirt.

I am really hopeful they have the Breakthru convention next summer, I was going to go this year until it got cancelled. I am not a party person either, and I am really too shy to just talk to random people. Maybe if someone talked to me I’d be ok. I wouldn’t do karaoke or anything, it impresses me when people do! But I am like you, Saint Jiub, mostly I would go for the marketplace stuff and to hear guest speakers. Who knows, maybe it would work out for a group of us to attend some time! I did that years ago with a group I met on a chat board for a soap I watch, we talked regularly, became friends, and we all went to a fan event in LA together. We had a blast! One girl even came from Israel. We are all still friends today, although that was the only time we met in person.
I have to admit the marketplace aspect of a convention does intrigue me. I'll never pass up the chance to get more "stuff". I would also like to hear the speakers. It's the other activities that I would most likely be an observer, not a participant. I'm not anti-social at all, but I can be quite introverted if I don't know people.

Hey everyone! So interesting about everyone saying they are an introvert and not wanting to go to conventions (to me, most of you seem very outgoing and personable!!).....I'm not really an introvert but don't enjoy meeting a lot of new people and "pushing" myself into a crowd, trying to meet people. If I know some people, I feel much better. How ironic that, for most of my life, I've been one of "those people" that strangers always approach and talk my ears off. My friends and family always joke about taking me places w/them so I will get approached and they will be left alone lol! I've always said it's because I'm short and don't seem threatening to people :). So, I'm with MHZ, we can hit Breakthru next year and, those of you who don't want to socialize, can sit quietly and I'll be your blockade. That would actually be a lot of fun. And, no worries, I wouldn't do the costume or karoake stuff either so wouldn't try to push others into it.

It might be more accurate to say I'm more of an observer than a participator, but I'm quite capable of talking and laughing non-stop if I'm comfortable. I'm sure if I knew some of you at a convention I'd be just fine. Plus the draw of the merchandize would be strong.
I'm interested to hear what you think of your book. I've never shopped on ebay, though I've sold a ton of stuff. There used to be a little shop in town where you could take things for ebay and the two older gentlemen who ran the shop would sell it and take a small cut. I love watching my things sell and it helped with cleaning out the basement .
I noticed that Thor posted in the General Discussion forum. I knew he had seen those terrible posts that went on and on for a while and I guess he's had enough of watching his threads trashed with nonsense. Between the trolls and the bots it is rather discouraging here at times. I'm glad you guys are so friendly. I hope we can continue here and that Richard doesn't just get tired of the whole thing and shut QZ down.

As a teenager, I always seemed to gravitate toward bands that played both hard and soft rock, frequently used acoustic instruments (no synths!) and played great bass riffs.
I recall John started being my favorite band member when I was 15 after News of the World was released in 1977, and then was cemented as my favorite band member after The Game was released in 1980.
In my opinion, all nine of John's songs through The Game are top notch, although most hardcore Queen fans might only rate a few of his songs as top notch.
Of course, I also could identify with John's subdued nerdy personality.
