Friendly Chat

I do believe this place needs moderators if you take a look at its rocky history. There nothing wrong in asking for one it’s not a demand it’s a question and a safe one to a ask. As far as being civil and engaging in polite conversation I have done so with you guys . But if you have a problem with my open subject matter I tend not to even bring that here do to respect. Grasping at straws isn’t becoming or honest of someone’s character. If you don’t like me just say do at least that is real and honest. I fo think that is a straight forward way to handle this. I can’t help the fact I’m not willing to set back and let a troll destroy and rip me apart and say nothing there comes a point where enough is enough. That is not stirring up trouble that is taking up for yourself and not letting someone shit on you. So I’m sorry I do like a Thor dearly I just don’t agree on this one. He knows how I feel on it as well.I think he also knows by now I’m not a female that’s gonna set back and just take it and keep my mouth shut. It’s a cross I’m gonna have to bear. If someone likes me than they are gonna like all the things about me just not the parts they pick and choose. And yes it is to do with Queen Xone it has been for others as well. I have no problem with Dolly partons group it’s a open forum and larger than this one. They never have attacks like they do here. Something does need to be done. This place just isn’t ran properly at all.My posting history has been fine with those that have been kind and respectful to me. Not so much with ones that weren’t. Where I come from we are country folks and in this state we just take care of it. City folks not so much .

I have encountered some good friends via this platform. I hope the lovely people of this thread will find a new platform to continue communication.

May I make a suggestion ? If you are all on FB use FB Messenger to start a group chat together to keep in touch. You will have control of who joins, and will get 'pinged' when a friend posts a message. It would be such a terrible shame to lose touch.

P.S. will the older archived pages, such as all the pages Thor and and Lee answered questions on disappear, too ? If so, then surely everyone can see that QZ's demise is very sad news.

Perhaps QueenOnline or QueenChat might be options for a new "Friendly Chat" topic?

Saint Jiub, that's a tough one. When Queenchat first opened I approached them about setting up a Chat on their page if QZ shut down. . It was discouraged for several reasons. The first was that they felt that our thread was more like an old chatroom format and they didn't think it would fit. The second reason was that..........................and this was hard to swallow.................we haven't exactly paid our dues. In other words most of us have not either joined or posted on the site so why should they host our private chat??. I enjoy queenchat though it doesn't quite have the heart that QZ does. I've posted a few times but I'm kind of intimidated by their knowledge so I mostly hang back. There was a third reason, but it was less important. I'm considering approaching one of the other moderators, but I'm likely to get the same response. However, after quite a battle in PM, he and I are on a first name basis now, so it might be worth a shot. What do you think?

Yes it does seem like it would for sure many actual new threads actually monitored threads. It’s great news not sad news it’s a new beginning.

Before I address FD, I want to say for the third time this week, that Thor DID NOT WANT TO SHUT DOWN QZ, ONLY HIS OWN THREAD.. I can't stand by and watch him maligned yet again by someone saying that he wanted QZ closed when that isn't true. He only wanted his thread shut down because of the recent war between two trolls. Richard listed his reasons for closing QZ and nowhere does he say "because Thor Arnold told me to." So many were looking forward to Thor's promised return for discussion of the book and now they won't have that. I hope he lands someplace where we can all talk again. I've only seen two people cheer the demise of QZ and I'm glad that most seem to know that even with the steady decline recently, it was still a once-mighty place to celebrate Queen. There's no joy in losing that nor in losing the chance to interact with Thor again.

I do hope we can find a way to keep the group together. FD, I have a FB page but I know some here do not, and others do but don't enjoy FB.. Both of my political groups are private FB groups and I like the way it works. You can only be in the group by invitation, and it is possible to remove people if necessary, though it never has been in my groups. I am only FB friends with 4 or 5 of our many members and they are the only ones who can see my actual page. When I log into FB I can see if there are messages, so that's a very easy way to know if the group has new messages from anyone. I'm probably not explaining this very well, so FD or Jo, jump in here at any time.

The other option some of us have been looking at privately is an email loop. I'm really not sure how that would work. I run an email loop for a job I have at my church, but I think it would get very cumbersome with as often as we talk to each other. A private FB group would probably be easier.

I'm open to any suggestions and we have a couple of weeks here, no need to panic. I have most of your email addresses, though to be honest, I don't want to be the one to set this up. The most important thing is that I don't want to lose touch. I was really looking forward to discussing Thor's book and the Preston book with you all.. LOL, I actually enjoyed the book thread we had going more than this one in some ways!

Again, lets not panic just yet, but lets explore all the options.

It never hurts to ask ... well not too much. Nothing ventured ... nothing gained.

In my opinion, I see nothing objectionable about an unobtrusive "friendly chat" topic tucked away in the "Other Discussion" section on Queenchat ... but that is only my opinion.

One more thought. Some people reacting to Richard's post are suggesting someone else take it over. I doubt that will happen because this place is such a dinosaur. However, someone may opt to set up a new QZ and that might be good. It can be expensive and it's a lot of work, but there are some who don't like Queenchat and might open to something new. New hosting sites have all the bells and whistles that QZ doesn't have. I once ran a .com political site, sort of a Saturday Night Live type humor, and it was work, work, work. LOL, part of that was that my partner in crime had to have a fire lit under his bum more often than not. There was a monthly fee, and I think in order to start a new site, someone is going to have to be willing to shoulder that and the work. This is probably the least likely result of losing QZ, but we shall see.

It's like the ever cheating boyfriend who is constantly accusing you of cheating. How sad. Some people will never see their own behavior, yet they are constantly bemoaning everyone else's behavior towards them.
I enjoyed following most of you on this friendly chat. I really do hope you find another place to keep it going. This was for the most part a very positive place on an website that became unfortunately entirely toxic.
A huge thank you to those of you who supported me during my own troll attack. It will not be forgotten.

Katy - I thought it was the "bear's den"? Whichever moderator you ask, you will be fine if you are courteous and don't poke the bear.

I would ask, but I enjoy poking the bear, and I am not always courteous. LOL

As for a new Queen messageboard, I don't think there is enough demand for a new #3 Queen messageboard.

Shilling, I always enjoyed you and wished you would come in to this group. Are you a member of Queenchat?? I will approach them about letting us land there, but I'm going to have to think about how to go about it first.

First of all Thor left a long time ago he told you Katy he and Lee would set something up for fans to chat on but you did it yourself for what ever reason. He thanked you and moved on I really don’t think he is thinking about engaging with fans anyway. What he did was kind by answering questions end of story. He has product to sell and profit to make you don’t just write books to let them collect dust. I thanked Thor because the man closed all the threads not just Thor’s I said nothing about Thor asking him to shut them all down. I’m sure he is delighted though. They have said terrible untruths about him and friends.Im not a troll I was being attacked by one my family was directly attracted for no reason my own child was so until your in my shoes don’t be so quick to judge.im just not a person that takes crap off anyone.i made a second donation Thor sent message back it was civil we don’t have a problem with each other.
