ST16 wrote:'bRENSKI Bollocks Freddie was more business like than Roger & Brian put together, who do you think put the band in the right direction and got them huge - Freddie,

your revisionist history at work again?
Taylor and May had recorded an LP with Smile in 1969! It may not have been a commercial success - but, was still greater than Freddie's recording output (zilch) prior to Queen.
Freddie's pre-Queen bands were an unmitigated disaster. Regardless of what YOU think. it was the culmination of the FOUR band members that made Queen a success. if it were the one-man mission you claim it to be, then why was Mr Bad Guy such a pile of shite without the critical input of the others?
Contrary to your myopia: Freddie was not the infallible 100% perfect human being you cite him to be. Had this been the case, he may still be alive today:
>> he didn't look after his vocal cords (his instrument) shoveling cocaine and nicotine down there.
>> he was promiscuous to the point of recklessness taking unnecessary risks with his own life and those of others.
ST16 wrote:Brenski That was an unfair assumption of Freddie saying he would be alive today if he was infallible that just shows your ignorance of a world in the 80s that did not understand AIDS and show what a homophobic prick you really are.
this might be the point where you SHOULD retract that ^ comment - along with your racist posts. there is NOTHING homphobic about saying that infallibility would mean still being alive. it's a clear statement - infalibility actually means being incapable of mistakes. and if you're citing the promiscuity comment as some kind of homophobia, then, again - you couldn't be further from the truth. the simple fact of life is that many STIs/STDs DO kill! - even today. How readily, you forget that I worked in prisons for 30+ years - so I'm aware of what STIs can do to people. Also, you forget that my last role was Equality Manager - so although I may insult people where I feel it's justified, however, I WILL NOT make hompohobic, ageist, gender or religion-related insults.
For YOUR Information:
HIV, Hepatitus B, HPV and Syphilis - if left untreated CAN be fatal...and can all be transmitted via both heterosexual and homosexual contact.
any chance you'll remove your "homophobic" accusation? thought not.
ST16 wrote:Mr Bad Guy never sold as well as hoped but that did not make Freddie a bad artist, he had some success with his solo music like The Great Pretender as an example.
i never said he was a bad artist - read again: i said Mr Bad Guy was (IMO) shite. and I feel the reason for that was a lack of constructive criticism from the other 3 band members. Once Freddie was given free rein he lost some quality control, and, surrounded by "yes men and hangers-on" nodding appreciatively at him - resulted in an inferior project.
Strange that the Barcelona LP sounded so much better...could that be Mike Moran's huge influence helped to shape the thing and pull freddie's excesses back on script?

It's all good saying that Brian and Roger didn't make the big time with Smile but Freddie didn't with Ibex/Wreckage or Sour Milk Sea. It took all four members to make Queen as we know it today.
Freddie would've left Queen if he thought he was the only one contributing significantly. It's not called "Freddie Mercury's Queen" as Brian, Roger and John weren't a backing band.
Freddie talked about Mr Bad Guy in an interview and he said it was basically him leading the backing musicians who did everything he said whereas with Queen they all contributed their ideas which he admitted he rathered.

Again more bullshit rationalisations.
The reason Freddie didn't make it with his pre queen bands is because he wasn't on the same level as a musician and performer then as he was in the mid 70s.
In the mid 70s however, he was on a completely different plane musically, lyrically and performance wise and that's what mattered. At the end of the day when crunch time came it was Freddie who stepped up to the plate and delivered, not Brian, not roger, not John. If he hadn't we would not be having this discussion right now and Brian would be a failed or mediocre astronomer.
All the bullshit about ibex, or whatever, is completely irrelevant to the discussion. Its actually a lot simpler than that. There comes a time when a band has to deliver and it either does or it doesn't. In queens case it delivered thanks to Freddie.
Brian and roger are absolutely delusional if they think that they would have somehow maybe made it without Freddie just because they are good musicians. The whole history of music is overflowing with good musicals who never made it because they were missing that one magical ingerdient. And in queen that magical ingredient was Freddie.
It's not a case of percentages of contributions that Brian has mathematically calculated. It's a a case of a single, almost intangible magical ingredient that does it. And nothing else would have done.
the only time he recorded a whole LP by himself (Mr Bad Guy) it ended up a mess. case closed.

I'm not saying Mr Bad Guy is a bad record but even Freddie admitted himself, he needed the rest of Queen on it.

@Freddie Jupiter Yes Brenski stamps his feet if he does not like anything to suit him and we all have to obey and take his final word on the matter lol
Mr Bad Guy had some great songs on it " I Was Born To Love You" reached No 11 in the UK and No 4 in South Aftrica, hardly a flop by your standards Brenski.
I've never said anything about chart positions. you're deliberately clouding the issue . the discussion is about quality.
chart positions are not an indication of quality. what absolute absurdity is this you offer now?
Year...Artist....................title.........................Uk chart position
1997..Aqua...................Barbie Girl..............1
1997..Chumbawamba...tubthumping..........1
1987..The Firm..............Star Trekking.........1
2000..Bob The Builder...Can We Fix It........1
2005..Crazy Frog..........Axel F.....................1
what matters here is that Freddie even admitted that the album lacked the critical/directional input of the other three band members, and consequently was not up to the Queen standards.
ST16 wrote:@Brenski You do really make me astounded with your arrogance on here, Firstly you say you are not homophobic ageist gender insulting but many many times you have been insulting to most with the mental health card so do not deny that because you have done it to me and Runner70 and Alba1.
That seems to be your defence to win an argument over just insult them over there mental health.
By the way i am not erasing that.
you really are a fucking imbecile. why? ok here goes: my last role in the Prison Service was Equality Manager. For that I trained for two years, learning Equality Law. So consider this, fuckwit: Even if I were prejudice in any way (and btw - my training taught me that we all are - a little, apparently it's normal), I know exactly what private thoughts can/cannot be made public. So unlike yourself, you will NEVER see me post anything online that could be deemed to cross the 7 Equality Strands (Protected Characteristics). Those being: age, disability, gender, gender reassignment, race, religion/belief, sexual orientation, marriage/civil partnership pregnancy/maternity.
You are too thick to realise that your racist posts actually break the law.
the "mental health card" - as you call it. is a hypothetical card that would allegedly be played by someone with mental health - usually to cite some form of unfair treatment. It's usually perceived as a cynical ploy to gain preferential treatment. an example of this would be someone saying:
"there he goes again, playing the mental health card..."
it's NOT an actual card that anyone carries...it's not a BLUE BADGE...ffs!
It's impossible for someone insulting someone else's mental health to be "playing the mental health card".
BTW - calling someone irrational, psychotic, schizoid, mad, dangerous or any of those things is not being prejudiced - it's stating an opinion as to their mindset/state.
As I'm replying to you, I will speak about YOU. You are clearly imbalanced. In 30+ years working with the incarcerated - on a daily basis - staff get to see significant numbers of those with various stages/kinds of madness.
without any doubt whatsoever Gerry, YOU display many of the character traits of someone suffering from some form of mental illness. shouting at everyone, threatening violence, posting aggressive racist comments, and, ending statements with an anti AL insult is almost a form of online tourette's.
you are incapable of civil disagreement.
added to that, your lack of editorial control when posting - actually being happy with making online racists comments:
shows you have no place in civilised society. you clearly are a racist, bigoted, sociopath.
but other than the above...you are here for our amusement. a joy to behold!

Oh! South Africa - such happy memories from the colonies for the solo defectors and their record companies.
Brian May + Vrienden (how else?) and Sterren Vloot Project was already famous there when Freddie reached no 4.
Sorry for totally ignoring your stroke of madness Brensky.
But I hope someone already called 999 and soon you will be in a safe place, for you and for us as well.
Don't forget to mention your Irish origin, you may get a double portion of jello.

racist pig. are the mods on this forum going to allow this to continue?

The first thing the mods should do is to ask you to remove the signature.
Your complaint may be taken into consideration only after that.

you'd have been (after ST16) the first expected respondent. so predictable, so obviously on your hate mission.
we've discussed this previously. you are just picking a fight for the sake of it...and completely from a position of total ignorance. the signature and my avatar are about my origins - with the avatar being a copy of a tattoo i had done as a tribute to my father and brother who both died of cancer within 7 months of each other.
the fact that you think that my pride in my heritage somehow justifies racist posts, actually says more about your attitude.
as does your leaping to attack me, rather than the correct actions - which would be to show outright condemnation for his posts. this makes you look as if you find Gerry's posts acceptable - i think you have issues to address.
if you're not going to discuss things rationally, then no more replies from me.

Brenski You do enough attacking on these forums daily so if you cannot take it then don't fucking dish it out.
We are all fed up of you and your arrogant posts putting peoples opinions down daily, why don't you go and work for Pierce Morgan, because you do go on like him.
there's a huge difference between "dishing anything out" (and i only ever do so in retaliation) and what you do.
most of us are more than capable of trading replies/and insults (on occasion) without resorting to racism. you honestly think because someone has somehow "crossed" you in some way, that that makes racism acceptable?
you are so inarticulate that your only recourse is racism. so lacking in an edit button that you honestly can see nothing wrong with using racism as a form of attack. that makes you a racist. no getting away from it.
as i said earlier: all of us can be a little racist - it's natural and usually from fear of the unknown. most of us manage to keep those "fears" private. your racism is blatant, loud and proud. you should be ashamed of yourself.

and YOU need to understand that racism is not acceptable. and if you can't change your attitude - then at least keep your horrible racist thoughts private.
i'm out for the evening, have fun - racist!
