I’m minutes away from some people diagnosed with the coronavirus here in the USA. I’ve stopped going to department stores and groceries stores. I hope everyone stays safe out there in all the countries around the world.
Have a fabulous day.

Really? In Germany there are 500 pple who have it and not a single one died. Of 80 million inhabitants. Any flu is more dangerous. Just pure hysteria going on everywhere.

Just hit 100,000 people, the coronavirus. Over 3,000 dead. Flu kills an average of 2 out of every 100,000 people.

We also need to consider that there are likely a ton more people carrying the coronavirus, as the symptoms often do not show early on. So that 3% figure is almost certainly much lower.
Also - way more people get the flu and die from it - 18,000 have died of the flu in the US alone this winter season (although we can thank anti-vax mentality for a fair portion of those, particularly in younger people).
Still, this is pretty alarming. SXSW just announced the they're cancelling the conference this year. Shit's getting real.
Just wash your hands often, and hopefully they come up with a vaccine soon.

We've got to also accept that this virus is new and until it fully spreads, we'll not be able to configure numbers fully until then. You've also got to remember, coronavirus has three stages... the cold, the flu, and then pneumonia. Yes, all three. Even in healthy patients... a simple YouTube look up of patients describing their situation will show that. Even young, healthy patients, get all three scenarios. Even young, healthy patients, are dying.

We've also got to accept that coronavirus has barely just started spreading around the USA... the flu spreads year 'round (even in Summer, no matter what Donald Trump tells you). How can you compare numbers when the flu is constant? This version of coronavirus isn't... it's new!

Sadly, medical experts and scientists are thinking this baby is more airborne than the flu by far.
And don't worry, Canada will get in on more of the fun ;-)

It's already here in parts of Canada, two presumptive cases in Alberta where I am. I'm worried.

Speaks the voice of knowledge.
Forget the numbers in your country. Look at the numbers worldwide. And look how quickly the confirmed cases multiply. Remember those are the ones that have officially been diagnosed. With a two week incubation and not everyone seeking medical advise you're presentation of why you think this isn't a problem is miles from the truth.
So first it's music now it's virus infections, anything else you'd like to claim being an expert on.

You are horrible. I'm all for opinions but when it's hoping someone gets ill, that really proves that insulting is your favourite thing to do.

The coronavirus is ten times more deadly than the seasonal flu. (1 in a 1000 people affected with the seasonal flu will die while 1 in a 100 will die from the Coronavirus.) If they weren't taking all of these precautions e.g. quarantine, Covid-19 could spread significantly and reach millions and millions of people. It's very contagious. Every person who catches it without knowing can pass it onto 2-3 people, so that's why in Italy you can't take any risks.
