I saw him in 2002 with Elton John. One of the best concerts I've seen in my life.

Billy Joel is not only a great showman, but a comedian as well. He jokes all the time, and even if you don't like his music it's guaranteed he'll make you laugh.

I was actually JUST listening to his "An Evening of Questions And Answers... And A Little Music", And he is quite funny! If anyone has seen the "Inside The Actors Studio" with him on it, That's basically the gist of the CD I just mentioned. CLASS!

The Elvis Presley and Beatles influences are palpable, even for a piano-based musician. I enjoyed the "Innocent Man" album, his most straightforward tribute to the 50's and 60's music that influenced him, especially Frankie Valli. Some other fave songs of mine are; "Say Goodbye to Hollywood", "I Go to Extremes", "Shameless", and "Downeaster Alexa".

Shameless is a great track! As with the whole of the "Storm Front" album!

Billy's my favorite!

I've seen him 4 times. Twice with Elton John (once in 2002 and once in their first tour together - 1994 or something), once solo (fifth row center!), and once for "Questions, Answers, and a Little Music". All fantastic.

The only problem with his concerts is that he has so many hits, so many "must plays" that he always plays pretty much the same stuff - the biggies. It was a real treat to hear him play "Vienna" when I saw him solo - wasn't expecting that.
