Ooh! I have seen the one John Malkovich and Billy though! I remember hearing the "River of Dreams" album for my first (of many) times earlier on in that week actually! And here i thought that gym class was just rubbish!

The guy hasn't recorded a pop/rock studio album in more than 10 years.

I hope he thinks about heading back to the studio soon.

I've been wanting to get my hands on
the "Old Grey Whistle Test" performance of Billy Joel, ever since they broadcast it here on tv as part of "Rock Masters" series (and my tape is ruined unfortunately)

It appears to be STILL due for release...

Ooh! Old topic! Anyway, I just got ahold of Billy's "The Bridge", And I think it is a stunning album! I had heard it before, Even owned it onece, But I never gave it much thought. When I went and sold a CRAP-LOAD of my CD's about a year or two ago, I sold it as well. What a HUGE mistake THAT was! This is one HECK of an album!!! There isn't a song on it that I don't love! :D Anyone else like it?

Of course!

Running on Ice
A Matter of Trust
This is the Time
Baby Grand
Big Man on Mulberry Street
Temptation
Code of Silence
Getting Closer
Modern Woman

These are all fanstastic tracks! Actually...I think I just named every track on the album. Well, just goes to show it's an awesome album.

Recently found some bootlegs. I always liked him live.

You should find some of those, Dan. I'd think you'd like it.

Well, she doesn't have much more than a backing vocal part, really, thank God. I think she is credited as co-writer of the lyrics, though. I don't know how much of those she really wrote, though. They're pretty good lyrics, either way.

I have a pretty cool remix of Modern Woman that contains a bridge that isn't in the album version of the song. Shoot me an e-mail (cgraye@glue.umd.edu) if you're interested in hearing it.
