Sorry to cast a sarky note.

Immediately after the Tribute Concert I asked the Fan Club if there were any plans for a video and / or CD of the gig.

They told me there no plans as it would be too tricky to get the permissions required.

And so, that Christmas, the video came out...

Been waiting 10 years to share that!

Cheers,

The Voice.

I remember watching Live Aid on TV 19 years ago. There were some great performances on the day but oddly enough the thing that sticks in my mind is Adam Ant singing Apollo 9. No bugger was listening to him and you could actually hear voices in the crowd saying things like 'I'm going for a piss'or 'Anyone fancy a hot-dog?'
Maybe that's what sent him doolally in the end.

Useless Trivia: Did you know that the piano used by Phil Collins and Howard Jones at Live Aid belonged to Freddie?

fatty.

I am also skeptical about having the whole thing on DVD by Xmas. But look at 46664 - that was, I believe, last November(?) and they have it ready to be released in the next few months (can't quite remember when), so it is possible.

If they plan on remastering the sound and video to max. quality, that would delay it seriously, but as that is very long time to take to do that, I doubt it.

Do you suppose they could do anything about the feedback problems/wrong audio feed with voiceover etc. during Queen's bits? This was the one thing that shocked me when I finally saw the whole thing recently thanks to Rien. Everyone always says how Queen stole the show, but they also seemed quite plagued by technical problems.

Maybe Bri, Rog & Robbie Williams or Britney could dub the whole thing. :-P

Record companies and artists themselves have a freakin' nerve on not giving the rights of their performances considering that it's all done for charity.
The whole "We didn't like our peformance" thing is just a silly excuse.

The record industry is so full of greed that it makes me sick. Especially the 5 major record labels.
