The solo and Outro solo of The Loser In The End, I think they were played by freddies cats....

Well, i like alot of Brian's solo. To me they're the bit that liven up nearly every Queen song I listen to! I just love 'em. I guess his worst guitar solo has to be when he doesn't have one at all! lol!

There are Queen songs I hate, but even from those I hate the only thing I seem to like are the guitar solos.

Funny, because I feel the same way - no matter how bad the song is, there always seems to be a decent guitar solo that saves the day. There are exceptions, but very rarely does Brian perform a bad solo.

"The solo and Outro solo of The Loser In The End, I think they were played by freddies cats...."
Hehehe... but really, I think what's really pissing people off isn't the guitar work itself, but the stereo panning. It was definitely over-done.
Honestly, I don't think Brian has ever done an out and out "bad guitar solo". But he has definitely had up days and down days, like practically anyone else.

Although i wish Break Free solo had been done properly on guitar, I think the actually solo is great. The notes etc I mean. Brian said on his soap box that it was done on synth, but I always thought it must have been done by guitar synth (i.e. plugging the guitar into a synth so the action and feel of the guitar is simply synth'd). If not, then I commend Brian on getting some excellent feeling out of a synth!!!

"Big Black - I've got that HMV performance on video, so I'll check it out to see this moment you speak of. Do you have this video as well?"
No I don't GH. It's funny, it wasn't anything special, it was just him playing an extended outro and if my aging memory serves me well, he played an ascending run, not blinding speed but he was using his rake technique to make the final notes scream and think he was bending on the 24th fret and it sounded glorious. It may turn out to be total shite on video but I thought the passion and sound was fantastic. Reminds me of the time that I saw Extreme in T.O. on their last tour. Nuno played an incredible bit at the end of Get the Funk Out and the two guys standing next to me looked at each other, then looked at me and their faces said, "we have just witnessed genius." God bless the guitar!

Worst ever guitar solo on a Queen song:
Delilah. Guitars were not made to "meow".

"Delilah. Guitars were not made to "meow"."
But Brian proved the theory wrong, didn't he?
What is it with people here who cannot accept anything innovative?
BB, I've always wanted to get into Extreme. Is there a particular album I should look for?
God bless the guitar indeed.

Hi, Guitar Hero.
Well, you certainly jumped into a conclusion in the phrase below, didn't you? :D
"What is it with people here who cannot accept anything innovative?"
Well, I think Delilah is a disgrace and a shame for Queen forever. None of them should've "meowed", and I include the fifth Queen member there, the Red Special.
On the other hand, I LOVE inovation. Not the ones that make me sick, like Queen and the poor RS "meowing". Believe me or not, not liking my rocking (ok, and "poping") idols to meow doesn't mean I'm old fashioned or that I hate inovations or something. I guess you went a LITTLE bit too far with that conclusion, buddy. ;)
Respect,
Ogre-

I don't look at Delilah as disgrace or a shame to Queen, rather I look at it as indulging a dying man who obviously loved his cat very much, and who was greatly comforted by her during his final days. I appreciate it for what I take it to be.
A bad Brian solo? There are some that I like more than others, but I don't really think of any of them as bad.

I totally dissagree with you about Delilah being disgrace and the shame of Queen. Really like that song, there's something special and unusual about it. And I agree Brian proved it wrong that Red Special cant meow:)) Actually, I can't think of any Queen songs I would find being disgrace or the shame.

Thank God some people like that song. Otherwise it'd be useless. That's the beauty of mankind: differences. :)
Brian is the musician that brings more joy to my life, there is no doubt about it. And, boy, do I like music.
But, IMHO, he makes some bad songs or solos from time to time. That is, comparing those bad songs or solos to his usual songs and solos, which are commonly very close to perfection, of course.
And I will never forgive him or any of the other members for Delilah. :D (this last line was a joke, of course) ;)
Finally, Janet, I hope you forgive me for this last humurous comment I'll make now. I understand your point and I think it is a very strong one. But I can't help making a last joke:
Ok, they did it for Freddie. But did it really need to be recorded, and, even worse, released?! :)
