I actually hope that Greece will become European Champion. Who would have thought of that. What a suprise and then to think that Holland beat Greece with 4-0 while preparing for Euro 2004.

Honestly, I did cheer for Greece, but I didn't think they'd be able to do it. Good on them! A proud day for Greece.

No one thought they'd make it. And that makes it all even more exciting!
But after they kicked Czech out I could imagine that they could be able to do it, I mean first France, then Czech. A team that beats them both is able to beat Portugal as well. But I didn't really believe it.

Yeah, what a surprise. Greece won two times from Portugal, from Czech Republic and France so they deserved the title. But I think it's not good for the game football that they've won the title. Greece play like cowards, ultra defending.

No, I think it's great for football that Greece won!
It shows that there ain't no so-called "football nations" anymore, with Spain, Italy, Germany going home before the quarters, followed by France and England. It shows that even countries that never were a big name in football are able to play well and to win.
And Greece played so much better than most of the big ones, actually better than all of them.

Greece probably "deserved" the title, because of their tactics. But you can win the championship this way once, not twice. In semi-finale and finale they just kept kicking the balls away from their half, they had one or two chances in each match and always from corner kicks only!
Portugal played a really bad game in the finale, just like France. We (Czech Republic) at least had several excellent chances against Greece, it's our fault that we failed to score. Portugal had probably two chances in the whole match.

I totally agree with you Scully, though Sonja's point of view is interesting too. I hope the future will bring us champions with attacking styles of play. Like Czech Republic and Portugal showed this tournament. And now Advocaat is fired, Holland will play attractive too in the future.

I wanted anyone but Greece... Geee, feel for Czechs- such an amazing team, such a great style and... semis... Well- maybe Germany 2006, World Cup? Baros will be two years better, Nedved will have his last tournament (probably), few young, exiting players will become stars (I'm sure) and... Just hope Bruckner will remain as coach...
