Well, can't see UK channels in Finland, so I guess no.

for those who don't know about Brit T.V.
Channel 5 was infamous for showing soft core porno films - its recently tried to improve its image.... the new Freddie Documentary appears to
a backward step.

And what, pray, is precisely your problem with soft core porn films?
Can't see the harm in it, myself.

apologies Flashman... i was trying to be objective when describing "Five" as its now known.
I enjoyed Channel 5 in the early days - they used to show my fav. TV programme, the Incredible Hulk (although it was 9.30 a.m.)

So what does that mean for Channel4, Ag? They had something equally stirring. But of course, we don't have a clue what it's going to be, really.
Peace,
Adam.

I saw a trailer last night for it and they have interviews with David Wigg and Phoebe so hopefully it won't be too much of an expose.

I didn't know Wayne Sleep was one of Freddie's lovers!

Oh, God -- David Wigg and Peter Freestone are a part of this "special"?
Seems really out of character for them, though money can talk louder than words...

we are pre-judging this documentary. Perhaps it will be better than we expect...

i was listening to Radio 5 late on saturday night where they mentioned this programme. I was drifting to sleep as i listened but they then they switched to interviewing a guy called Broadly who is a producer.
I assumed he produced the programme. He described himself as a genuine fan (he also met Freddie) and he ridiculed comparisons between Freddie and robbie, describing the 70s as Queen's golden era.
So, if everything i recall is true and not me imagining it, perhaps the programme will not be as crass as everyone thinks.

This is from the Times:
"From his girlfriend Mary Austin, who remained a member of Mercury's inner circle for 23 years, to the one-night stands who became close friends, the loyalty the star inspired is both remarkable and touching. Some might say that kissing and telling -even 13 years after his death -is a dubious sign of loyalty, but the reminiscences on display here are full of fondness and affection. Most poignant of all, perhaps, is the testimony of Jim Hutton, Mercury's final lover and gardener at his "functioning royal residence" in Kensington. "I saw him perform at Live Aid. I was just dazed. It's basically me saying 'That's my man there'."
The programme also offers a vivid snapshot of pre-Aids hedonism and 1970s clubbing, from the popularity of the moustache to the names of the most popular bars. There is also a new biographical interpretation of Bohemian Rhapsody and enough footage of fandangos, feathers and Freddie to keep the committed Queen fan happy. As biographical portraits go, it is illuminating and affectionate, thunderbolts, lightning and all."

Great that things like that are never shown on German TV.
They prefer to show "Christina Aguilera" specials and "Britney's Love Affairs" which is, of course so very important to know about!!!

"Biographical Interpretation of Bohemian Rhapsody"
anyone else get a sinking feeling when they read that? I won't be watching, just because it has nothing to do with the music.
