You guys will have to give us Yanks a rating (audience-wise) when results come out. I'd like to see the percentage that watched it!

Quite enjoyed Trip Khalaf's little joke on meeting Freddie's new acquaintance the morning after the night before:-

"Hi, I'm Thor."
"I'll bet you are!"

All in all, though - not really my cup of tea. Summed it up when they had a 'Maroon 5' song playing in the background. I mean, for Flashy's sake, hundreds of Queen tracks to choose and we get some fuckin' Yankee shit. Makes me sick.
FLASHMAN STRIKES AGAIN! Paul Rodgers is not the best thing since fried Fred.

I think the music was fine. They didn't use much Queen stuff because it was all down to describing Freddie kinda stuff. And because of the content in the programme, that meant very few Queen songs. Body Language, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, We Are The Champions, The Great Pretender, etc.

If I'd been putting that show together, I would've made similar, if not the same choices. It fit the content. And don't you thank god they didn't use magic tour stuff!! lol

Peace,
Adam.

Lisa, Channel 5's best audiences are half a million people. You'll be lucky if half of that watched it.

Over on Channel Five, Freddie Mercury documentary Freddie's Loves was watched by 1.4 million viewers and attracted a 7% audience share.(from Guardian.co.uk website, in the media rating section)

Only 7%? HMM!
If any of you read reviews about it (in print), please share!!

For those of you NOT in the UK, you should know that channel 5 is effectively a minority channel which cannot be received by at least 50% of the UK population unless they have satellite. So, 1.4 million viewers is an excellent percentage, especially when even the highest viewed programmes only get an average of 10-15 million.

What do you mean you need satellite to see the channel? I plugged an antenna into my crappy WinTv on the laptop and there it was.

Peace,
Adam.

on the queenzone website:

Freddies loves- a review
Programme on channel five (uk) about freddies lovers
Watched this this evening and was actually pleased to see it wasnt too sordid or deep. It basically told you what most fans already know- the camp names, who freddie dated. there were one or two comments on his penis size, but we've also heard those before! all in all, it was more like a collection of interviews, not sad like the bbc freddie programme, but in the same production style. most importantly, it didnt hang over the issue of aids or freddies death, which was briefly commented on at the end. jim looked a little tired and thin himself sadly. mary did not feature, not shockingly, and nor did the band on indeed any of his family (which seems to make sense)
All in all, this was well presented and researched by the sometimes underrated channel five crew.

Well, I didn't even watch it.
I may have done so, purely out of interest, but... I blame my maths teacher. I had coursework which had to be completed. I chose maths over that show. Says a lot...
