All I can say is that the Brian I know, the Brian behind the public figure, dislikes the Wembley 86 DVD/CD issue - says it is far from Queen's best live work, but, along with Milton Keynes, which was also repeated constantly, it's the one Queen were *expected* to release first.
He is deadly serious about this recall idea.

You managed to mention everything but what I queried - The mastertapes, e.g. News of the World. That was likely the next dvda, but because it was missing and probably nicked, no new dvda.
I wasn't talking about all those things you mentioned. I could care less about them because they are like you say, legal, in a sense.
But when studio work is missing, you've got to be worried. Brian did ask on his website if anyone could help. Not officially, but he was wondering.

Adam - you seem to fail to see the point. No one is bashing Brian.
If studio masters are missing - then logically - the thief has to be some "insider" at EMI - not those on this forum who would not have access to this type of material.
It therefore does not take Columbo to find the dastard and to follow the chain of "ownership" as logically, only a handful of Queen fans would be available to meet the financial criteria anyway!
In fact, the police offer this service for free!
However, as far as I know, (and it is certainly true with Ibex) Queen did NOT want the police involved. Fair enough, but I think that the only way to catch a thief and discourage other thefts - is to employ the full muscle of the law.
If somehow studio masters DID become available, they would do so on the black market - where people are interested only in cash.
As sad as it is, if Brian genuinely desires this stuff back, then to compete, he needs to offer a cash reward as incentive. (After all, he is one of the UK's highest paid company directors and valued at c£85-100 million!). BTW: I do NOT support or condone theft in anyway - and I do not suggest that criminals should benefit from crime, but I DO think more positive action could be done to return this material.
Therefore, In my opinion Adam, I feel that Queen Productions are NOT doing all they can to have this stuff returned, because if they were, they would be doing something - anything - to guarantee the safety of this material, but, (again in my opinion) sitting back passively complaining and expecting the fans to achieve the impossible - is NOT good enough!
At the end of the day, all that has been returned is a fan video of Wembley rehearsals and an off-air video copy of "Seven Seas... hardly inspirational stuff is it?

The Houston Summit had their own in-house video team, which, starting in the mid 70s regularly filmed concerts there. Is this also the source of the Queen video, or was this done by another crew, which Queen hired? Currently, other '77 Summit video boots in circulation are from Aerosmith, Kiss and ZZTop. Aledgedly, there's also one from Zep, which is being hoarded. Speaking which, when Pagey was putting together the Zep DVD, he put the word out to the trading community, that he was looking for all known footage. Actually, a great idea would be, for Queen to compile a 70s DVD collection.

To be completely honest, and no offence meant, I think the WWRY musical was a mistake. It's really like he was following ABBA, which I would think of as a principal sin.
I agree - I told him at the time. I said that Queen should save their stage stuff for that Queen Symphony guy.
I've got to approach these types of thing with Brian carefully because he has suffered a lot from depression and self-doubt in his life, especially during the 90s, and he can fly off the handle if you try to persuade him not to do something he really wants to do.

Oh don't get me wrong, we've had a lot of dreamers and people who live in a fantasy world around here. So you can't blame us for not believing you right away. And don't blame us for never believing you either, if you aren't able to proof anything, in the end. See, we've heard it all before.
