Brian's solo in These are the days of our lives is so haunting. So touching aswell. Think of me weird if you wish but Spread Your Wings used to make me cry if i was in that *hormonal* mood that we all get in sometimes. Freddie's little voice thing in that is just so amazing. Love of My Life gets me every now and then. Bohemian Rhapsody got me when I was watching the Tribute concert for the first time. White Queen... well that just sets me off i guess...
Matter of opinion though.

I believe the saddest Queen song was The Show Must Go On. I believe that Freddie realized that Innuendo would probably be his final album and he wanted to say goodbye. The Show Must Go On is his way of "don't worry about me dears, I 'll be fine."
i thought brian wrote the show must go on. unless im mistaken...
poor freddie baby
I've got to say that "You take my breath away" must be the sadest song. I can't say that the show must go is so sad. It's more that freddie say's, "when I'm dead , who cares" the show must go on. But if you really read the text in YTMBA, you will understand.
No-One But You (Only The Good Die Young)

"Guide Me Home/How Can I Go On" from Freddie's Barcelona album are the saddest things he ever sang, I think, though maybe you're not counting nonQueen albums?
IMO the demo is bettter than the final songs.
My list:
Mother Love
My Melancholy Blues
Too Much Love...
YTMBA
Innuendo
personally i think that the ballad by brian may - no one but you is the saddesr. - its about people dying before there time. (1996)
the sohow must go on, definitely
and who wants to live forever
and who wants to live forever
Definitely "Mother Love". And Brian's guitar playing in this song is very, very different from all other songs, which makes the song even more exceptional.
These Are The Days Of Our Lives especially if you think about what was happenening when it was recorded.

mother love,
days of our lives.
freddies fav was the show must go on he was very proud of it, when he had a taped of it after studio time he went home woke everyone(2 or 3am) up to listen to it,(peter freestone bio) he also when he was ill in bed played it to barbara valentine then when she was leaving she could'nt stop crying after hearing it and seeing freddie looking frail and not well she knew it was the last time shed see him alive,, so imo show/go on tops the bill in that respect,,
