Hell it is a lot!!!
I live in London- fine, 10 quid isn't a lot for me- mere hour of my work... BUT most of my friends live outside UK... Comparison- my father, 30 years in the Polish army, very high rank- earns around 350 pounds... per month... Fans, who are usually younger earn less or don't even have a job yet (most of them are still students)- they're not going to buy bloody thing for tenner if they can/could downloaded it from hub/queenzone etc for free... soundboards would be worth it- YES!!!! But this is a freaking joke...

WE WANT REALLY QUEEN RARITIES NOWWWWWWWW¡¡¡¡¡¡
It´s a joke to pay 9´99 pounds for an easy queen bootleg concert, not soundboard, not cd, not arwork, nothing.
REAL ZARAGOZA
Yeah, this step in the right direction seems quite misguided, eh? Soundboards and non-mp3 would be far more interesting.

The only good thing about this is that it takes money away from the bad bootleggers. As for the good...well, that's another story.

Peace,
Adam.

EDIT: Are these the exact same sounding bootlegs, i.e. has the sound been changed in any way? Have they tried to clean them up?

Seems like, hence the disppointment...

Why don't we just finance QZ to buy these bootlegs then distribute it among ourselves. Just keep it a secret from QOL.
Two thoughts:

First: Plengel - "the soundclip... sounds worse than the bootleg I have... there is a better version of the Osaka '85 show... Queenonline uses the "Last Stand" bootleg, while... the Japanese... released a bootleg... with even better sound."

This is really very, very bizarre because this show was OFFICIALLY released in Japan as a laser disc, and is easilly available in the UK. That means that they are selling us a product which is an inferior version to the commercially available product - and charging us for it! In effect they are ripping themselves off - and breaching their own copyrights - W E I R D!!!

Second: Nice to see that Roger has stuck to his own very high standards, Remember this is the same guy who wanted to withdraw "Live Killers" because it was too raw and in his own words "sounded like...!", yet these boots are going to make "Live Killers" sound angelic!
"Listen to them. Children of the night. What music they make."
Another lost opportunity by QOL... They're definately out of the market...

Keep in mind that the soundclips are 64 kbs, which is just barely FM-broadcast quality. A standard mp3 is 128 kbs.

It doesn't sound like any touching up was done though, and they sure as hell aren't soundboards.
The show officially released in Japan was the May 11th show John, NOT the May 15th show.

Are you talking about the Osaka 15.05.1985 show and not about the Tokyo 11.05.1985 one??? I didn't know the Osaka show was officially released. I was referring to the "Last Stand" bootleg LP: http://queenbootlegs.tripod.com/id57.html

and this "newly" released bootleg:http://queenbootlegs.tripod.com/id221.html

Thanks in advance.
QUEEN ON LINE: Queen are one of the most widely pirated bands in the world. A large number of their live performances (over 700 in all) exist in unauthorised recordings - from the earliest college gigs in 1971, to the final open air spectacular at Knebworth Park in 1986.
Bootlegs from 1971???????????????
REAL ZARAGOZA
"With expert advice from three acknowledged experts on Queen bootlegs; Frank Hazenberg, Andreas Voigts, Frank Palstra, we offer only the most interesting and significant material"

Just noticed something odd.... why didnt they ask their own "resident expert" Greg for advice?
I'm saying nothing.....
Not worth it. I think QP should try to talk to the fans, in their shoes I would try and find some fans on QZ or the fan club and talk to them about what they would like to see released. I want to spend money on Queen products but QP isn't giving me a good enough reason.
who are these bootleg experts?
I know some ppl who know a lot more then who these are...
Be stupid to pay for a bootleg when you can get them free just by not being lazy, Only a few shows I would love to have, it's a shame Queen dont do what pearl jam did and put out all shows, Pearl jam made a nice amount of money from that
MY GOD spell it write.
"Q) What quality are the downloads?
A) The downloads are Windows Media Audio 9 Series encoded at 192kbps and are virtually indistinguishable from CD-quality audio."

As if they are offering anything even close to cd-quality... :S Which still doesn't make the above true.
