What do we think of Jazz?
I just bought it today.
I'm listening to Mustapha right now.
I'm just a musical prostitute my dear! FREDDIE MERCURY 1984
I think it's one of their least interesting records.
The only song I really like is "Don't stop me now", the rest sounds very mediocre to me, to Queen standards that is.
I like the tracks a lot, but it's not really an album to me. It sounds more like a bunch of tracks thrown together.
Twas lack of organization that made the critics call it fascist, I think. But Don't Stop Me Now is nice, Fun It can be regarded as a cousin of AOBTD, IMO.
as an album it lacks a natural flow, but as a collection of songs there's some good ones in there, with most of it being likeable stuff. DSMN is one of Freddie's finest moments - a distant cousin (apols to last poster) - of I Was Born To Love YOU.
i'm sure i saw a quote (around the time of release)that they wanted to get an album of three minute pop songs out

strange connection between Fun It and AOBTD - because at that point in time John and Roger's writing couldn't have been more different, yet there are clear similarities in both songs...

I love Jazz.
Freddie Mercury. A wonderful human being and simply the greatest singer, performer and composer of our times.
I actually like Jazz. I think it's an enjoyable album, although it usually isn't recognized that often. Dead On Time, Jealousy, Mustapha, Dreamer's Ball are all great, but I could do without Fun It.
Resistance is futile. You are now an orb.
This is one of my favourite Queen-albums, I like it a lot! All different styles of music are in it, beautiful. Jealousy is one of Freddie's best!
I don't know, all songs are great! It's a great and very underrated Queen-album!
John: "It's the one thing I wish I could do - sing."
I love that album.. Mustapha and Let me Entertain you are my favorite songs on it.
"The walls we build around us to keep sadness out also keep out the joy." (Jim Rohn)
I love it!
