I don`t like "Jazz" album as the whole, but I like particular songs e.g. "Jealousy", "Bicycle Race", "Fat Bottomed Girls", "Dead On Time", "Don`t Stop Me Now".

Jazz is obviously not one of their best albums, but I feel that people do not give it enough credit it deserves.
I am not really fond of Don't Stop Me Now. I do not know why, but the song gets on my nerves just a tad, and I feel that there are better songs on the album than that particular one. Jealousy is a good song in my opinion because it exemplifies Queen sound with a slap of reality. Some people think its a love song, but if you read the lyrics (or even the title for that matter!) then you realize that it isn't.
Dead on time is a great song. Dreamers ball is something different, but I like it just as well.

First, let's look at Jazz: BICYCLE RACE... if this song wasn't relesed as a single and stuck somehwere in the middle of an album, you would think it was one of their worst recordings... I mean what were they thinking?! Take a step back, Freddie probably realized if they can make We Will Rock You a hit by stomping their feet and clapping their hands... why not write a song about bicycles and.. oh here's a thought, let's ring the bells somewhere down the middle of the song! brilliant, lol. Very self-indulgent thinking... who cares what we do... people will like it. Why? Because Queen made it.. and big. Had they released Bicycle Race before We Are The Champions, Somebody To Love or Bohemian Rhapsody... Queen would be written off as idiots, and we;d never hear of them again. So kudos to Queen for their... balls!
Second... Just watch a Queen show...Freddie is commanding the audience "You are now going to sing!" (as early as 79... heard in Live Killers).
Or how abuot the Deh-Oh chant, he's practically got them in the palm of his hands. And we;re not talking abuot a handful of groupies... we're tal;king sell out crowds of hundreds of thousands of people at a time (Knebworth, Rio...)
How were Queen not fascist, they practically ran their own goverment!

Yes I see the politics behind it... not a very insghtful song... it basically says, forget about what people say... do what you want to do.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the Jazz album, very innovative, I think Bicycle Race is actually genious, many hooks and melodies dabbled here and there make it impossible to forget, not to mention the bells and those wonderful guitar runs

I like Jazz, allthough it is not one of my favorite queen albums.
I really like Dreamer's Ball. Fat Bottomed Girls is abit boring on the record, compared to live anyway. The album is good, but it's not as good as the one before or after I think.
But "Bicycle Race" wasn`t a major hit. It was a hit but not as big as "Bohemian Rhapsody" or "We Will Rock You". And WWRY was farly more complicated than just stomping and clapping. Notice that there wasn`t something like an echo effect - they had to fake it re - recording the stomping several times, as well as the chorus. And the guitar solo is really technically complicated.

It's a good record. There's some decent songs on here, like Dreamer's Ball and Don't Stop Me Now and More Of That Jazz. I also think Bicycle Race is a lot of fun (always loved the way they used it in the medley on Live Killers, something I had completely forgotten about until I got the CD).
If Jazz seems a little weak in some places, one has to remember that they were following up a string of what I feel are some of the strongest albums by ANY band. And at the rate that most bands turned out records back in the 70's, it was bound to come about that the quality is going to slip, if even only a little bit.
But I still think it's a very good record.
