Has it ever crossed your mind that the recording sessions might have been spread out over a longer period of time ?

Sessions could started at 1971, lyrics could be written at 1965 so what? What 'may 91' on the paper means? I think there's paper with 'nov 94', when Brian, Roger and John worked with it again - but it tells nothing.
Besides I tell what I know: I wasn't with Freddie in Montreux at autumn 1991 and I can't say if he recorded something or not, I just say what I've read in the interview of someone's from Queen/Montreux studio crew.

It appears you were there and thus know more about it than anyone else, including David Richards, whose senile ramblings shouldn't be taken seriously, unlike your own, which can be considered as a primary source, right ?
So thanks for calling me a stupid fuck, I really deserve it.
are we perhaps missing the most obvious answer to the 'May 91' thing?
it's been reported (several times) that Freddie was singing lyrics just as quickly as Brian could scribble them down on paper and hand them to him....
which would mean Brian wrote the lyrics. or at least a good portion of them.
Brian. Brian May. May. in 1991
May 91.
*never seen 'Champions of the World'*
*possibly talking out of my arse*

Nope, the date was on a recording map from Mountain Studios.
I remember reading once that Freddie left Mountain Studios in Switzerland two weeks before his death.
He could have recorded up until the first week of November in 1991.

I remember reading that as well...
Me too.
sorry for my bad words.

Wasn't it Let Me Live? I'm sure it was.

Err, is this trying to be a word game or... if you meant it, then it CERTAINLY wasn't Let Me Live. It was Mother Love, 100%. I read it in a Brian interview, so it's quite sure that THIS was Freddie's last song ever recorded.
Wait, no, there's another track after Mother: the 1st bonus track! Freddie's last "yeah" ever! :)
Btw, Brian stated in the same interview that Made In Heaven was the last song ever WRITTEN by Freddie. But MIH is from '85, as far as I know. So there are only two explanations occuring to me:
1) Either Brian was struck by a sudden fit of amnesia and forgot Freddie wrote MIH way back in '85,
2) Either Freddie "rewrote" (musically) the song for their last album and that was indeed the last song he's ever written. Which would be kinda cool, the message of the song would be fitting in.
But that would mean they've recorded all the song together - I used to think they only reworked the track from Mr. Bad Guy, possibly after Freddie had passed away.
What about that??
I remember this being from Queenonline, when somebody purporting to be David Richards signed on and started revealing information about the final recording sessions, and that Mother Love was recorded in November 1991.
While I want to believe this is true, I also believe "David Richards" was revealed to be a fake, thus making his credibility and information all the more dubious. So, unless Brian or the real David Richards confirms this, I'll still believe that 'Mother Love' was recorded in the summer of 1991.
Although I can't recall the 1995 interview with Richards about the final sessions, so if that's what people are referring to, then I'm clearly talking out of my ass.
It's pretty heroic, though - "despite his crippling disease, Freddie braved the odds and recorded until he couldn't sing anymore, then died a week after recording his final vocal" looks far better than "Freddie stopped recording in the summer of 1991 and relaxed in his London mansion until his death".
