And Led Zep were undoubtedly one of the most influencial Rockbands ever.

Compared to the utter shit that make up The Works, AKOM and The Miracle (except for Keep Passing The Open Windows, I Go Crazy, Princes Of The Universe, I Want It All and Was It All Worth It), the raw sound and adventure that The Cross displayed were completely refreshing. there was no resting on aurels or pandering to what the record company told them to do (which I guess is why they failed).

I've listened to Kashmir many times just to find out what in it is similar to Innuendo, but didn't hear anything, except that Innuendo is a 1000 times better. Could someone please explain the similarities to me?

Just the basic character and style - there are no tonal or harmonic similarities. It's just a heavy track, based on a simple but incisive riff, very dark and intense... and long :-)

I'm probably as disappointed in Queen's 80s offerings as you, but although the albums as a whole were pretty poor by their previous high standards, there are enough little moments of magic amongst the filler to easily outclass whatever the hell is the best The Cross could offer. Fuck that. All of Queen's 80s material has redeeming features. The Cross's has none whatsoever.
Queen still continued to be diverse, intelligent, meticulous, and fresh, whereas The Cross just peddled insipidly embarassing cheese-infested rock. Queen had a couple of US number ones and a UK number one. The Cross had, I don't know, a number 39 in Germany?
I'm gonna have to stop this debate, because I feel like I need to listen to some The Cross to refresh my memory as to just how godawful they were, and that's not something I'm prepared to do.

Blue Rock and MBADTK are better than ANYTHING Queen did in the 1980's IMHO as were The Cross's live shows - they were raw and exciting in a way that Queen ceased to be.
You say that TW, AKOM and TM are "utter shit" and you call yourself a Queen fan... 80s Queen has its fans too and what you said isn't a simple opinion anymore. It's insulting and ridiculous. I won't go into comparing Queen and The Cross, it'd also be insulting for many people on this board. You go on listening to The Cross, if you like it, I don't like it btw, but keep it decent, boy. You can say for a 1000 times you don't like 80s Queen, but keep insulting words away, will you?
The Cross and Brian's, Freddie's and Rog's solo works are sometimes interesting, sometimes they did great songs, but... they're only an addenda to Queen, they're all in Queen's shadow and they only make it when they're the closest to the Queen style (Brian's Back To The Light album or Freddie songs like Man Made Paradise, Made In Heaven and I Was Born To Love You). Anybody agrees with me on that point of view?

to add my opinion. i love led zep, but always thought "whole lotta love" was dull.. much prefer "black dog" or "celebration day" etc
