So this is what Queenzone has been reduced to?

Oh I agree that they shouldn't do this, see my previous post, but the fact is they do, it don't make it right to take the track.

The only option is to boycott the product totally, especially as we already own copies of it, and it's 'not that different anyway'. Once the band's realise that people aren't stupid enough to just want a product because it has their name on it, they may just stop doing this sort of thing.

Who said, and I quote, "it's just a different mix"? It's just barely that. Like my last post mentioned, it's merely a re-created, "processed" and "cleaned up" version of the original mix.

There's no good reason to argue about all this. It's such a shame it's happening.

Peace,
Adam.

Hi, I have Jewels II, and the Hi Definition mix is quite significantly different, but in a subtle way. If you're very familiar with the ADATR version (as I'm sure we all are), you will notice many differences in the vocals and instrumentation, not just in the mix (Freddies vocals are sublime)but also where and how the guitar and drums appear. So I would suggest that 'merely re-created, processed and cleaned up' doesn't quite do the Hi-def version justice.

Hopefully this will help some of you. I have just ordered Jewels II from https://www.101cd.com/music/info.asp?id=812198

This is a reputable UK online store, and it will cost you £16.99 - that's it. Stock is expected on 20 Feb, so get in there. I agree that the mass request for this track is out of order - I wanted it, I've ordered it, and I hope you all do the same too.

Cheers

Boo hoo. Once you hear a song, you own it anyway. It will always be in yer brain (excluding alzheimers and electro-shock therapy) so it doesn't matter if you pay for it or not.

(this goes for BAD songs too, like that John Farnham WWRY. Actually, apart from him being on it, I kinda liked what they did.)

I feel the same way about reissues of CDs, why should I rebuy albums--or songs-- that I already own for 1 or 2 new or remixed songs?? It doesn't make sense to me.

Completely agree with you there which is how I dont have any of the "Hollywood" CD's with the extra songs on. In a funny sort of way I also feel dubious about a band or record company's motives to re-release old albums or CD's where the whole thing has been remixed. I for one would certainly think twice about purchasing something like that unless it came with an extra CD or, as in the case of Katie Melua's "Call Off The Search", a free full length DVD.

I didn't request a copy of the song but, I don't have a problem with those who did. Is there anyone here who DIDN'T feel cheated by having to buy Queen Rocks for No One But You? I bought the entire Hollywood Records remastered collection only to find that they had done a bad job (eg. squeal on FBG (Queen Rocks), sqweek at the start of CLTCL (Game), and the worst, a missing opening chord on It's Late! (NOTW)). Let's not even talk about Flash Gordon as offical release! Stop insulting the fans with endless re-packaged Greatest Hits and one remastered track(s); The record industry brings this upon itself.

yup queen are doing it again, re-releasing law cd remarstered with the dvd artwork and there gonna put posters up all over to coinside with the tour,, what another rip-off!!! they must think were daft,

I would like to hear the Teo Torriatte (2005 High Definition mix) too but I'm not willing to buy an overpriced CD so I won't get the track. Simple equation. I invest the money = I get the song; I don't wanna pay = I won't get the song.

I for one am disappointed that they don't release everything consistently. What makes one country better than another? Supply and demand?

I hate to post negative statements, but it just seems like the U.S. is getting shit on, again.

I even hate that. A special edition should be released when the album is first launched (eg, U2's How To Dismantle or Bloc Party's Silent Alarms), not a couple of months down the line when the artist is better known. It will persuade more people to buy it than download the album, and they will also get more first week sales...

I wouldn't go and buy the album again just for the bonus cd/dvd with b-sides or live concert or whatever, I'd try and download the fucker. The music industry squeal about these downloads but their forcing people to download by constantly screwing them over with shit deals. If they want respect they should buck their fucking ideas up.

I'm sure most people who may download this track would buy the worldwide release (say ADATR DVD-A?) with the new mix on...

Sorry, but that's exactly what they've done. That's not to say it's bad or not worth looking into.

And £16.99 for a whole album of tracks I already own, bar one slightly altered one. If you don't like GH3, then you can't dismiss our criticism.

Right.

1. If ANYONE is uploading anything still "on catalogue", I'm against it. Rien has made his own defence, and I wasn't aware of Martin uploading anything similar. If he does, I'm against it. If this puts me in conflict with some people I do respect (as opposed to a bunch of leeches who seem to have registered solely to get something for nothing), then I trust them to be intelligent enough to consider my point, as opposed to rejecting it based on personal paranioa.

2. I'm sorry my car example is so disproportionate. The point is the same. Dark argued that the expense justifies it. My point encapsulates why that is an unreasonable position.

3. If you object to compilations with a random extra "new" track, how come we haven't heard this about Queen Rocks (which went further and had a "second issue" cover)? As Martin says, either buy it & quit bitching, or don't buy it & quit downloading.

4. "Queen are multi millionaires, so it doesn't matter". Cool. I'm off to burgle John Deacon - he can afford it. Yes, I know it's an extreme example (again) but it's the only way to get simple concepts across to simple people.....

Get Up Queenzone

So this is queenzone,
And what have you done
Another threat over
One bout F's cock just begun
And so this is queenzone
Where is the fun
The spam and poopoo
No more old only young

Chorus:
Queenzone is ruined
The threats are dead now
Keep hope for a good one
Hope for HeM's cow

And so this is Queenzone
For it aint that strong
Containg just poor ones
Cload9 is so wrong
And so get up Queenzone
For black and for gray
For straight and for homo's
While most zoners are gay

Chorus (2x)

And, so this is Queenzone
Whenn did this begun?
Another threat over
It's head reaches the gun.
And, so get up Queenzone
We'll hope we'll get fun
The pokemon fan one
The gay and the young

Chorus (4x)

Get up Queenzone!
Get up Queenzone!
Get Up Queenzone!

I actually agree with Rien's comments, and that is right, he now only releases "teasers" of the official stuff.
But I also HATE the way Queen are limiting releases to Japan - it made me angry that I had to pay $85.00 Australian just to get the "I Was Born to Love You" remix video on the DVD - that hurt alot (but was worth it, as the quality is great)- but it is a slap in the face to Queen fans when only one country gets these things afterall Queen are known throughout the whole world right? So why only limit it to one country? It was grossly unfair.
But still Queen Zone should not get a reputation for sharing official stuff (no matter who is offering it) coz it could bring the zone down in the end.
It is best to make private arrangements if you wish, but not maybe in a public forum?
Just my pennies worth.
