So this is what Queenzone has been reduced to?

to the one who started the thread... there's freedom of speech... and then there's passing judgement on others... that's not freedom of speech. If you feel violated, take an appointment with your local psychologist.

I think Brian May deserves it. For putting up that enigmatic picture of Freddie, only for the download to be WWRY related. YAWN

So you like the look of the new Mustang guru?

So do I!

As well as importing it, the other thing is that it's only available in left-hand drive - won't be able to overtake anymore...

First of all, PG, you should not believe what Dark tells you. Martin never upladed the Farnham WWRY version on his website, that's just not true. Actually, he never uploaded any released tracks if you do not count the fan mix of WATC (hockey mix) which can hardly be regarded as an attempt to keep people from getting the original version.

Apart from that I agree with Teddybear. I am just as angry about such remote releases which cost a fortune only to get one single newly mixed track. Usually, I do not buy them. But then, I do not lose sleep about missing such mixes. I am truly conviced that the original mix is good enough for me.
I do not want any google ads here.

This is so great, it almost feels like the old days :D

2) BUT on the other hand, if you´re not willing to make the effort and pay because "it´s just a different mix", then let it be the same reason for not having it anyway... if it´s "just a different mix" then live without it... "it´s just a different mix" should apply both for not being important enough to purchase the legal thing AND for not being important enough to need it. After all it´s just a song (which you all already have anyway in one way or other). It´s not a surviving element... it´s just a song. No one will be hurt for not having it...

Now, if it would be an exclusive track unavailable elsewhere and it would be available for downloading, I would get it that way AND if I consider it good enough, I´d probably go for the real thing.

Silly? Maybe... but I bet than someone else will feel the same way...

Yeah, I agree with this 100%. If it's not important enough to spend your precious pennies on, then it's not worth stealing.

This is a great argument, and I agree - but guess what? I'll still download the song. I think I've poured enough money into my Queen collection to skip the umpteenth Greatest Hits and download the "new" song. Criticisms should be made directly towards people who have the entire Queen back catalogue in mp3, not those who have bought everything up to this point and don't feel like getting yet another GH compilation.

Look at it this way:

When the DVD-A of A Day At The Races comes out, this one song will be useless, as we'll have the whole album in 5.1 anyway. So that renders this entire discussion useless, provided that we all buy the DVD-A.

If this new Greatest Hits album sells out completely, then that will also render this entire discussion useless. Whether one person downloaded the track or if one million downloaded it, if the album is no longer available, then there is no more money to make or claim as lost revenue.

A Mustang being LHD wouldn't stop me overtaking, but there does seem to be a willingness on the part of FOrd to at least consider the possibility....

It's not an "if" situation; it WILL sell out eventually, as all media in Japan are produced in limited quantities (bar re-issues, special first editions, etc.). They simply don't have the space nor money to produce everything forever, unlike what western countries are infamous for doing (e.g. constantly re-releasing Greatest Hits by Queen every 2 months)

This is especially true in the case of their "idols", similar to the boybands/girlbands that are only expected to last 1 year; no-one wants to buy anything there once it's practically gone out of style, and if they keep producing these CD's anyways, and no-one buys them, they're going to lose more money. Not saying that Queen will go out of style, but I was just making an example here.

True.
