When do you feel Freddie "knew"

asking about the question, Freddie actually had some slight suspicions about his health just before Live Aid in 1985, thats why he was so determined to make an impact, and to steal the show, and during the 1986 Magic Tour, he told millions of fans " We are goin to stay together till we fucking well die", so he told the band and the millions of fans there and then, but they never knew it until he did "The great Pretender" and "Im goin slightly mad", when they could see his physical figure breaking down as it were, and he told the band about his illness after the last gig in Knebworth, and he said from one banned interview "I told them, and i want them to keep it hidden form the fans, and dont want to upset the fans, not until i fell is necessary" which that times was 24 hours before he died, when he released his press statement. Thats the whole story of his final moments.

It's good to see that someone like taylorgaga can react like an adult, so sad that many others react like children.

I don't know when Freddie knew he was ill, but it fascinates me.
Because I think almost every person who heares he is terminal ill takes that like an impact.
It's is a huge impact on your life.

That's why it fascinates me, because if he knew during the magic tour that means he didn't let it change his performance.

You didn't really see the impact on his physical performance until mid 1991. He still is somewhat the same Freddie we all were accustomed to in the IGSM video. That was definitely admirable!

It's easy for us to see the illness now, as far back as 87 really. You can just see subtle changes in him. But back then, I don't think anyone knew.

Why don't you just remember Freddie for his music and his humanity instead of speculating about a killer and relentless disease!!
His music and his contribution to Rock'n'Roll is most important in many fans eyes.

He chose his lifestyle and he knew the risks so just leave it at that.

According to Jim Hutton, Freddie told the other bandmembers about his illness during a party at his house when he showed them a wound which couldn't heal - in 1987? He was sarcastic about that, but he clearly made them understand what was going on. Then, they had meetings, where he asked them to keep the secret. I also think he had suspicions about his state of health in 1985 (maybe not before Live Aid, but at the end of the year) and he knew the Magic Tour was going to be his last. Of course, he didn't want to give up his singing career, but live performances were from Knebworth on totally excluded - except his appearance on stage in "Time" in 1988, of course. I remember having being surprised in 1989, when I first saw the "I Want It All"-video ("why did he grow a beard?" "Hey, he looks a little fat!"). I had seen the "Great Pretender" and "Barcelona"-videos the years before and I didn't notice anything, but I was 15 at the time, I even thought he looked great without the moustache and in a suit... I would say that from the "Scandal"-video, everything was clear. The rest is history, of course.

Do you actually believe that you saw this "banned interview" or are you trying to wind-up others?

Two things:

1) We do this because we've emotionally invested in Freddie. That's what makes us this morbid, and we all have mixed feelings about that.

2) "Know" is a slippery beast. Knowing for definite is quite a bit different from suspecting something's wrong.

Nobody knows when he began to suspect, but he was diagnosed around Easter 1987

Of course this is purely speculation on my part, but I honestly believe that during Wembley in 86 that he knew.

He may not have knew, knew...but he KNEW.

At Live Aid 1985, I don't think he did.

Again, my opinions are based on no facts...this is just what I speculate.

You may ask any questions you want to, but if all questions are about Freddie's lovers, AIDS, last days, last pics and no any questions about his music - this is strange, isn't?

How do you expect us to know when he told them and when he knew? Everything we can say is taken from Brian/Roger's interviews or books by Freddie's crew and all these sourses give different dates. But Freddie didn't come to QueenZone with statement "I have AIDS, darlings", so no-one here knows for sure when he knew and when he told it to Brian, Roger and John.

And of course there's no any banned interviews!

First off, stop argueing. This is a reasonable and legitimate question. Alright, that out of the way. I would like to think, and dont say what i know you are going to say, that he knew even before BoRhap. I would love to beleive the song was about his struggle and have everything solved. Now for you immature people who forget what they read 2 seconds ago. I KNOW IT ISNT ABOUT THAT AND I KNOW HE DIDNT KNOW IT THEN. I think he probably knew about the time of Live Aid. He definately found out during a tour. Probably not too long before Wembley in 86' I remember a interview with Brian saying something on the lines of Freddie wanting to do something, and John disagreeing. Freddie turned to him and said something like "Im not going to be doing this for much longer..." or something like that. So its obvious he knew before Wembley. I dont really care when he knew. He made kick ass music before he found out, after he found out, and hell his music was still being realesed after his death. Long gone but not forgotten. So next time ask a positive and uplifting question like "when was Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy" released, or something. Depressing the hell out of me ;)

And their is one banned interview which i have sed but of course their will be no sources about this interview becos it was more or less moments before he shot one of his last videos and the band were asked by Freddie to deny anything which they still do, but im not goin to get into any of these arguements, like i sed if u want to argue take it elsewhere, not in someones forum.

what is this fascination with this? isnt the music enough, freddie could have disappeared after knebworth 86 & lived the rest of his days in total seclusion in montreux if he wanted, but he didnt he continued to work till he physically couldnt any longer.

Let him rest in peace, all you need is the music not the ins & outs of his illness it makes me sick & ill challenge anyone who disagress with this
