Just wondering if any of the younger girls here have bought this magazine and noticed that darling Freddie is featured in it ? I got a lovley surprise when I turned the page and under the heading Anti - Icon was a picture of Freddie performing Live Aid. Was very happy to find out that it's not just me that loves him in the yummy white jeans and vest he wore that day !!
Nice to know that he is not forgotten (and never should be) by the younger generation when usually girls at my school have no ideal who he is (don't worry I ALWAYS fill them in on all they need to know!) !! !! :-)

--I live in the USA so I don't know if I will get to see this. Once a week I drive down to Washington, DC (I live in Baltimore, Maryland USA), as the stores in Washington cater to a totally different, more cosmopolitan, artsy crowd-

Hi! Arlene, Wow ! You certainly know a lot about Ben Mckenzie ! I don't watch the OC that much but I do sometimes. I LOVE the theme tune, did you hear that it's coming out on single, I'll defintly be buying it !! I know it's not just Freddie's dress sense that made him so very, very hot, delicious fabulous ect.!! I was wondering, did you ever see Queen live? Every time I watch either live at Wembley or Milton Keynes Bowl on dvd i always think to myself "Man I would give my right arm to go to that!". I'm always trying to get people at school into Queen because I have to admit I didn't think Queen were so cool before I actually heard their music. Sure I'd heard WWRY and WATC + stuff but i didn't know about other great songs like I Want It All and Seven Seas Of Ryhe ect. I only got into Queen in October 2004 when my dad got free tickets to a tribute concert.

You're right that would be a wonderful way to let teens today experience Queen, hope they realise that soon. Very, very, extreemly unlucky me, i was born 1 year after Freddie's passing, as you'll have worked out I'm 12 ! I've never seen the Live Aid footage before (again poor poor me !!) So i don't know about the actual performing but, again, those jeans, that vest *Screams* oh ! *Faints* ! Yum - my !!!!
But I have to say, again, my fave Freddie 'era' was the long hair and *gulps* the tight Zandra Rhodes catsuit type outfits, *swoons* . On and I am a smart girl, I knew about Freddie's ur...flamboyance...as you discreetly and tastefully put it, when I was only a kid, because since I grew up around showbiz people and have worked in showbiz, I learned about that stuff very early. So what. Handsome, sexy, classy comes in all packages and is classic.
Also to Freddie4ever92, Freddie Mercury was the hottest of the hot, when I was 14 and discovered him and now still even more for me at old lady me 43.
Also, I watched the entire Live Aid Concert broadcast Live start to finish with my mom at home July 13, 1985 and it was 103 degrees here in Maryland that day.
The highlight were 2 acts for me, Bono and U2 who I thought their performance was only 2nd to Freddie & Queen,--
Of course Number 1 was Freddie and Queen. I just thought...wow..and yes the first different thing I noticed was his sexy upper leather, silver studded arm bracelet. And Queen just mesmerized me, and well the world that day with their transcendent performance.
We had the TV on and Live Aid was simulcast on--2--TV stations...one kept showing the acts at Wembley, one at Philadelphia and (bear in mind this was before remore controls or TVO was invented so I parked a chair in front of the TV and I kept switching the channels back & forth so I wouldn't miss a thing.
Better yet was out top FM Radio station also broadcast the entire thing, so I turned the sound--off-on the TV, and turned up our very excellent stereo system which the radio rceiver was part of...and rocked the house from 7am EST USA time when Live Aid began at Wembley, until about midnight USA EST when Live Aid ended at Philly.
