...woops my computer crashed....continuing....
so then in July 1995, VH1 TV in the USA
re-broadcast --selected parts, about 8 hours worth of Live Aid..for the 10th Anniversary...and to help Bob Geldof with his selfless continuing activism on behalf of the starving/impoverished in Africa.
On the 1995 re-broadcast, they also had in between actual Live Aid footage peformances,
NEW at that time, 1995, Interviews with alot of the music artists who actually performed at Live Aid in 1985, discussing their fond memories at and of Live Aid...and of course....
--all the artists interviewed were unanimous in their praise, accolades, and admiration for Freddie & Queen's performance...and as I remember some of the quotes from some of the artists interviewed, I can't recall who they were but I think it was Midge Ure from Ultravox and members of Status Quo, Duran Duran, as I still have it on a cassette tape that I taped but I had no VCR to videotape it,..
but some of the quotes I remember off the top of my head from about 3 or 4 artists interviewed on the 1995 re-broadcast said,
-about Freddie "and he was just such a natural showman and he just loved the day." and another quote about Queen "and the power of their performance was just transcendent....Whether you were or weren't a fan of their music, you couldn't deny their brilliance. It was simply just one of the best live performances ever given by any artist, anywhere...ever...."
One artist affectionately kidded around and said..."I wouldn't have wanted to go on after Queen". meaning what artist would have wanted to perform after Queen, how could any artist top that!
I've literally memorized it because while I don't own a DVD player and I have not yet bought the Live Aid DVD, I still play my cassette tape all the time, especially since Live Aid is back in the public eye again with its DVD release.
I am concerned though that when my tape gets too old or if its ever ruined I will lose the Great 1995 artist interviews which I love because it was special and more meaningful to hear their thoughts and fond recollections/reflections of Live Aid and the heartfelt joy of so many musicians using music as Bob Geldof titled the DVD even, "The Day Music Changed The World"...for the better.

I have no idea if Freddie worked out, but as you can see by his live performances, unlike alot of singers who just stand at the microphone..
Freddie actually danced and did actual wonderful (and often graceful/catlike) diffucult acrobatic steps (and yes he performed with the Royal Ballet) I even have a photo of him dancing and performing with the Royal Ballet October 7th, 1979.
He kept in shape I guess and that's good. ABut all the guys in Queen do....
...oh and to answer a question I think on on eof your posts, yes Roger is my 2nd favorite as HOT!, but Freddie is always number 1!!!!

You're probably right right about the perfomrnaces thats probably how he was so fit. I'd heard about that Ballet thing never seen pictures though. Sorry but for me in the hottness stakes it's Roger then Freddie but they are soooo close together it's unbelievable !! !! !! !! !! !! No offence to Rog but I've always thought Freddie was more manly, hunky + muscly (it's unlikly but man, I hope Roger doesn't stumble upon this website, read this post and then take great offence) !

Ladies,
I've been around alot of people... from music biz to show business....and no, I've heard "amazingly talented, unbelieveable voice" ...but I have never heard "hot" as a description for my man Freddie.
My wife would easily site Queen as her favorite band as well, but usually will not watch one of their concerts with me...as she says "Uggghhh, he's so disgusting."
Keep in mind, Freddie is her favorite singer, as he is mine too....but for his talent only.
My mom is all about Roger....its funny... mom refers to him as the "yummy drummer from Queen"...
However, mom and my wife both agree that Freddie was lucky to have anyone in bed with him...male/female/mammal..etc...
You know, everyone is attracted to different things...nothing wrong with that.
Freddie was an amazing performer, and very physically fit (for a 2 pack a day smoker) and that in and of it self is probably the main reason for attraction.....
Understand from my point of view, I see you ladies as ages what?? 16 to 25 talking about how hot a gay man, who would be 59 this year is, who lived with his boyfriend and 7 cats....
Now thats dedication ladies!!

Hi!
Ok.
No.1. Sure Freddie would have been 59 this year. Would Have. We are remembering Freddie when he was 1.Alive and 2. Well. You said your mum likes Roger, well shes not alone I too think he was yummy. Maybe it's just me but I don't fancie him now. I only think he is hot in the pictures from the 70's and 80's. It's no different with Freddie.
No.2 The gay thing, first of all he said he wasn't gay he said he was bisexual, second of all he did have relationships with women and they obviously weren't repelled by him. Also it doesn't bother me that he was gay or bisexual or whatever. And it obviously doesn't bother Arlene or a lot of other people out there. And yeah as you said he was fit but its not just that that makes someone hot as Arlene so rightly said it's their personality, their warmth, maybe even their fashion sense and one of the things that makes him so attractive to me is his eyes (that may not be relavent but so what !).
No.3 Again this may not make any difference but I am not between those ages you said.
And it's not dedication it's the fact that, yes I think he's cute and you said you + your wife like him even though you don't share my opinions about his looks that doesn't mean your not a dedicated fan. I love posting here and contributing to discussions and I would appreciate it if instead of (like the people at my school) judging my opinions respect them.
Thanx Freddie4ever92 xx xx xx xx xx

I agree with everything you said, well stated, supported, substantiated. 100%
P.S. To Scott--Woody Allen is Heterosexual, the ugliest man alive, the creepiest, practically a pedophile as he gets women one third his age, married his 15 year old step daughter, Soon Yee, YUCKY! dated Mariel Hemingway at 17 when he was what 40, 45. Women flock to this wacko. I detest him. But I guess you think cause he is heterosexual and teenage women for some noncomprehensible reason, flock to him, that he is hot!
I'll take flamebouyant, confident, handsome, sexy, confident...talented Freddie any day. He was just a great gut, that's all I care about.
Freddie4ever...
Oh, I totally respect your opinions.
Freddie was amazingly talented singer, with a great personality, and a wonderful zest for life.
Again, not gay at all here... but I could see what some women would love about him. I have no problem with your attraction to Mr. Mercury. It doesn't matter which team he bats for, a sexy person is a sexy person. period.
Freddie's sexuality was certainly more on the homosexual side of things.... I mean, Elton John married a nice lady in the 1980's, but we know where Elton's eart lies.... Freddie had slept with 100's of men, and about (3) women in his life (info via biography's by closest friends) .... so its safe to say Freddie was a gay man.
Nothing wrong with that.... if Freddie would have me as a friend, I'd love to have known him... I don't care who he sleeps with... thats his choice.
My mother, who is 50 loved the young Roger, she doesn't think the 55 yr old Roger has aged too well..... While Freddie certainly acts the part of the (flame)boyant, my wife feels that Roger actually looks more like a pretty boy.
I am a pretty boy too, but I am 6'0 tall, and pretty muscular .....(while not too muscular, at 190lbs, at 5% body fat)....
Roger's 140lbs frame in 1980 just doesn't do it for her....while she will tell you that based on face looks alone, Roger by far was the best looking.....Freddie had the best body around 1982-1984 era....
While she claims they are all a bit too "scrawney"... my mother agrees.
I hope I answered your questions... you can like, and be attracted to whomever you want....no explanation is needed.

Typo! I menat a great guy! woops!
P.S. guys I have had straight men in my life and gay men. By far the very best friend I ever had was 20 years ago in College, and Totally out of the closet proud to be Gay.
He was great to me, my family and friends who all knew his choice of lifestyle. We drifted apart through the years, but I always remember him. We has great fun. He could rock & roll, yet go to the theater and classy, sophisticated places. A doll and a total gentleman,....and ger this 100% of my friends....who all knew he was 100% gay, were 100% jealous of my relationship with him..
That shows you why Freddie's choice of team's he batted for never bothered me. I look at the person's quality, heart, mind, talent...nothing else matters.

Sorry if I was majorly defensive there but it's just LOADS of people make fun of me at school about queen + Freddie.
Oh, thank You Arlene ! :-)
"Sorry If I was majorly defensive there it's just LOADS of people at school make fun of me about queen + Freddie"
It's kind of become a reflex.
It's kind of become a reflex.
You are very welcome. And I still miss my College friend, after 20 years. I hope he is well whereever he is.
Would you believe my Mom who couldn't stand most of the straight guys I dates, adored my Gay friend and was supportive of his lifestyle...because she knew how good he was to me. That's what mattered to her too.
Well, don't let peer pressure or kids in your school pressure or judge you about this or any thing you belive in.
I have followed my hear and my dreams my whole life, including a career in music in the arts, though...that all of my friend and family were and still are 100% against....but....music and my career on it....are the Love Of My Life and make my hear come alive, like in Freddie's song "Love Of My Life" or Brian's song, "Hero".
Stay true to your heart and be your own hero!!!
