You can see it on QOL too. I think it's a good thing, now you can see this is not the same Queen as before, it's really another band. This will probably feature prominently on the merchandise I guess...

its a whole new Queen as it were, the old Queen unforunatly died off in 1991, thats when the new Queen came into play, slowly building upto the tour we have coming up this year! Woo im stoked!
I'd like to know who designed it. Also, I'd like to see it a bit larger.

Even if I Loved Paul Rodgers..or any singer, musician who joins Queen...they should leave the logo alone!!!!
It's like when Coca Cola changed and "updated" things. Well it sucked. And they went back to good old classic Coca Cola. It's like a prestigious brand name & seal, you know. Some things are in fact, a classic. I have no problem that this is 2005, a New Millenium, what have you,...so get a new singer, whatever...but the Queen logo is a Signature of everything that Queen stands for, of pride, dignity, honor, regal splendor, old...and New. Don't mess with an Original, Classic.
And why not change and update the Union Jack while you're at it (sarcasm!) It's oudated, a dinosaur. (extreme sarcasm)

Well, While I am intelligent enough to know there are 2 crests and that this is the one for the current tour...alot of people are going to be awfuly confused and think that this IS the Queen crest.
There WERE 2 Logos for Coca Cola too, Classic Coke, and "New" Coke, and that's only a stupid soda..and people were buying the wrong thing, getting confused, etc.
What's going to happen here? They should keep the original crest..but put the WORDS Queen+PR next to it, or put the NEW crest next to it stating Tour 2005.
When The Allman Brothers Band reunited in 1989, with alot of NEW members, in their case permanent, to replace Duane Allman & Berry Oakley, they KEPT the ORIGINAL logo, but for each year's tour, as the lineup has changed, repeatedly throught the years, they change the year and sometimes put a Separate Tour logo--Next To the Original Logo. I have most of the tour shirts and posters from 1989-present.
I like that idea...Brian & Roger should put the Original Crest logo on everything...with something like a logo of 2005 Tour Queen+PR next to it.

Well, for one thing fans do know what the original crest of Queen is/was. For those who do not know they probably even don't care how the crest did look like and probably don't pay attention to those details.
Remember that crest was a symbol of 4 Queen memebrs and their zodiac signs. So, changing it now from that point of view makes sense. The change was probably initiated by band members or someone from their marketing.
I like the logo. The only problem is the "Queen" part. That said I love this "new" band.

But wasn't the Phoenix...Freddie's original idea that's on the Original Crest that Freddie designed!

There is a bird on top of that all - Phoenix. However, due to the meaning of the Phoenix itself you can't look at that as exclusive to the first logo. As FM said in one interview "I got my diploma from Baling College of Art, in graphics and illustration. You know, I designed the Queen crest. I simply combined all the creatures that represent our star signs-and I don't even believe in astrology.". To understand meaning of Phoenix one must know that this was designed before they did a first album. Idea was that 4 zodiac creatures around Q are now coming to get you with their music (as they all have been involved in music before Queen and this time they would arise - as Phoenix did). After that sign has been applied for ANATO and ADATR album sleeves. Phoenix in 2005 means come back of certain Queen members and their sound - it is symbolic figure as it was 34 years ago.

You know what both Freddie would say, and I say...Bullocks!!!! Freddie designed it nonetheless. It's his artwork. His crest. Queen+PR..go design your OWN ORIGINAL crest, and stop plagerising Freddie's artwork because you are not original enough to design your own crest!

You can speak to dead people? That explains few things :) But really, where do you see any plagerising? It was not his creast but Queen crest. Q+PR just did a new crest - that's what first post is about :) If you believe that Phoenix is something that only belongs to Freddie - you are wrong. Phoenix is a symbol and crest itself should really be seen without Phoenix. If you check all bio documents and interviews in the past you will get that picture without any problems.
