Q+PR just did a new crest - that's what first post is about :) If you believe that Phoenix is something that only belongs to Freddie - you are wrong. Just so you know here in Maryland a man designed a crest for The Baltimore Ravens Football Team when the team 1st came to Maryland and they were taking open solicitations for artwork for their crest. The artist/man submitted a raven with a football helmet. The Ravens management sent it back to him with a rejection letter stating they didn't like it and no thanks. Few months later, when The Ravens "Debuted" their logo that they said their own "In house artist" had designed, it looked suspiciously familiar. Now don't get me wrong. The raven is a common bird and so it would seem a common everyday idea. Well a court here didn't think so. The artist who had originally designed the crest that was "rejected" sued The Baltimore Ravens for plagerism and won a multi-million dollar lawsuit, plus copyright infringement.

So, I hope if there are any lawyers in heaven, (oh yeah, I forgot all lawyers go to HELL!!!), acting on Freddie's behalf, that they send a spirit to haunt whoever designed the Queen+PR crest.

Yes, when I listen to Original Queen music by the Original Band (which can be NEW mind you, just the Original members), as well as music by many of my other favorite music artists who still hold their name and legacy with pride and dignity, even if they move forward into the future.

And going to fantastic concerts, watching great films, TV, reading great books, enjoying the great outdoors, sunshine, vacations, shall I go on.

I hope that one day you will realize that crest is just a marketing thing - as it was then - and as such not worth discussion. The only thing that matters is music. Queen is just a drop in the sea of the really good music. But it's huge drop. Crest? Who gives fuck? It's a fucking logo with bird which has crown (and it looks like Phoenix which is fine) and in front it says Queen+PR. It has nothing to do with old crest. I can understand there would be always people who will find something wrong with Queen+PR whatever they do. If they didn't change the logo someone would bitch about that. Now they changed it and someone won't like it. I believe we can talk if we like it or not (to me old one looks much better), but rationally there are no similarities between two. This is just a tour logo and nothing else. Tour logos changes from year to year. You are either too serious about this whole thing or playing fun with us :) Anyway, time to go to my bed. Good night.

I love the crest that Freddie did.This crest shows that the band changed ... a little bit sad...for me...

it's a lovely crest, but JUST a crest!
are we going to the concerts to see a crest? do we buy records for the sleeve artwork or the cover design? do we buy books for their covers?

come on guys, freddie did it - ok, it was brilliant and i love it. but HE DID IT FOR QUEEN, so brian and roger HAVE any right to keep it for the present tour, but they thought this tour meant something new and slight different so they decided to have a new one! This is not important, but it's a right decision to me.

...and there are 2 members of queen here. freddie surely didn't mind, maybe he'd just laugh on us..we're givin' it too much meaning.

and freddie didn't invent the phoenix...i mean the idea, the concept. and just look the Marlboro logo: an oval in the centre...a crown on it and 2 animals on the left and right...does anything clicks? there are a lotta logos and crests like that and freddie was not that original, though he made what i consider the coolest, the best crest i ever saw.

but it's just a crest....

I am going to see Q+PR in concert, not to stare at a crest for 1-1/2 hours.

Maybe freddie designed it in 1970 adding a phoenix because he thought that 'queen' could die one day so that someone would be allowed later to remake that symbol later, using the same phoenix...

- So arlene, did you ever meet Freddie? Did you ever have a conversation with Freddie? Did you ever come within five feet of Freddie? No? So how is it you know how he would feel about this situation? Oh you really have absolutely no clue what he would think? Okay, gotcha.

The crest is brand new. I doubt Freddie would have sued his friends/fellow band members for creating a crest that is, at best, similar to his design. As ever, some of you Queen fans *cough* arlene and sharon G. *cough* have nothing better to do but be negative about something that should be positive. I guess we don't like progression in the Queen world, cos a lot of you fans only want to stay in the past and to deem Queen "dead."

Sorry, people, Queen is very much alive and no matter how much reminding that you do that Freddie and Queen are dead, Queen and Paul are going to carry on anyway.

And Sharon G.: why are you accusing people of being ignorant for wanting to see Queen live? I should think you could come up with a better snide comment than that. But you know, everyone's retort back to you will be along these lines: I'm going to enjoy seeing Queen live and you are not, because Queen is dead. That's what you say anyway.

I don't like the bird on the new one. Or the purple. Have it blue I say. And make it an eagle or something.
