That tells me people are stuck in the past, are stupid, and need to seriously get a life

That tells me people lives THEIR lives in the way they wants to live and who you are to tell them how should they live?! Anyone who liked it - is a real Queen fan, anyone who didn't like - an old faggot and needs to be buried by real Queen fans, yeah? Fuck, no! We need in honest reviews - if someone didn't like something that's okay, Brian, Roger and Paul are humans and have their right to do mistakes! And fans have their rights to dislike those mistakes.
everybody has thier own opinion, would suck if we all agreed eh? =-)
So that doesn't mean we all agree that George W. Bush is a moron??
Have you read one review that said in essence
"I saw the hall of fame footage so I was looking foward to seeing Q+PR, but sadly I was let down"
NO!!!!
That would be an honest review by someone who was willing to give it a chance. I have no problems with that.
I'm making a distinction
The only bitterly negative reviews are by the same people who are always saying Freddie this, Freddie that; Queen is dead; PR is a cunt; Queen used to do it like this, Queen used to do it like that BLAH BLAH BLAH
Notice a pattern here? These kind of reviews I consider rubbish because the reviewer never intended
to attend the concert of a NEW band with a totally open mind.
Do I care that these folks are spending 50+ bucks knowing all along that they will be let down?
No! I could give a fuck. I'm just giving my opinion that I don't take these kind of reviews seriousley and I actually find them funny in a pathetic sort of way.

I must agree, everyone has their opinion and NO ONE is wrong in saying they liked it OR disliked it. Calling people stupid is pretty immature.
I never infered that anyone who didn't like the show was stupid.
Close minded perhaps? Yes.
Stupid? No.

I didn't mean you!! :-) Someone else said that whoever didn't like the show was stupid.....and that makes THEM look pretty stupid!! :-)
Reading how they had treated Love of My Life brought tears to my eyes. I just can't imagine each and every Queen song performed without Freddie. It just breaks my heart reading your reviews. I can't wait for the tour to come to Canada but it's going to be heartbreaking.
the last posts after my reaction were NO WAY an opinion anymore about the brixton show as this topic should be replied to, but merely other people judging other people and having their narrow-minded opinion ready and start throwing names and a verdict ....
my piece is a naming all that went wrong. And it would have been a joy to see a "new band" taking the history of Queen ina new direction. But this setlist, the minimum part of Freddies music in it, and the bad way that his songs were performed may be said aswell to be a big diddappointment. If there would have been a real and teamlike united band on stage instead of the spike, jamie+miranda one on the left side, and brian roger and paul on the other side, okay, but they weren't a BAND. Children running up and down behind Roger, technical things that went wrong, the fact that Paul as a frontman made absolutely NO contact with the audience, but looked more like a shy japanese karaoke singer in a bar making timing- and wordmistakes time after time, and letting the crowd take over to camouflage his unability to do it right may be mentioned. I have seen Queen probably more often than you lot who judge the fans like me who did and call us hung and stuck in the past...
For all the fuss with the organisation of the tickets, the late start, the stupid never ending intro...than NOT a Queensong, 3 of Freddie, 6 or 7 of Paul....and the rest only for pocketfilling royalties from Brian and Roger? THAT sucks ! It is a NOT courageaous but coward setlist, safe and easy money. Why bother to play Freddies compositions or even bother to record them and release them if THEY are NOT the ones to profit from that financially? Freddie wrote 57% of all songs, and always filled half of the show. IF they use the name Queen for this tour, they should play more of the songs from the man who made and was Queen. Also if they don't make a penny by doing so. I predicted that it would be like this in this forum before it all started. Look al the musical. 3 freddie songs, the rest are all credits to the guys alive, filling their pockets. They can do whatever they choose, but the abuse of the name Queen in respect to Freddie is shamefull. They had better call it Brian and Roger and Paul + friends on tour. When using the name and fame of Queen in ther name of the tour, then Freds part and portion should be bigger and more diverse. Why not play somebody to love, play the game, save me, spraed your wings, killer queen, don't stop me now, and so...why not listen to what WE want to hear? WE pay for the tickets and we are the customers here...they should live up to their clients wishes...but instead they play only that what makes them richer than they are, and put Fred aside in the enormous part of queen that he was and all his beautiful contributions... he dropped from 60 % part to less than 14%...and that is not how it should be, when remembering that Paul executed Freds songs poor too...
I was wanting to see the new band. There wasn't a band. I wanted to hear the new stuff. There wasn't any. I wanted to hear and see the great Paul Rodgers...he wasn't that great, i can do that better ! much better ! And Mirko from MayQueen is sure as heel a much better entertainer, and entertainment darlings....where was it? Were we enterteained? I will never forget the emptiness and crazy atmosphere after the lights went on in the academy....
And yes i know it was the first? ( after rehearsing, and 3 shows before...mmmmm?)
And i hope thet will adjust and improve. I will go and see them a few more times....but if at show 18 in Holland it is still the same poor quality and mistakes and setlist, i will sell the tickets to the other concerts i think, as this is everything but a satisfying show with respect for and to the man who was Queen.
People calling me this and that for writing my own personal, hard but honest feelings down have more than likely never had the privilege to have seen the real thing other than from vi

I think some fans are much too critical, it's not just the new band, also with tribute bands.
There's been a lot discussion about those in the past.
For me this band is something between a tribute band and the real thing, with 2 of the original members. We're fans, we're not like those f*cking journalists (who are surprisingly positive this time though). Emtpy your head, go to the shows for entertainment and don't compare with the old Queen, that's like comparing Apples with Pears...
I don't care if there are 3 or 4 Freddie songs only. I'm going to the shows for entertainment, to sing my blo(o)dy heart out. Come home late without a voice, to have that old group queenfan feeling again, all those fans together.
Try secretly to smuggle in a camera to make pics to have something as a memory. To empty my wallet at the merchandize stand :-)
Ofcourse Paul needs to keep working on his lyrics, being a proffesional I am confident he will. Bare in mind that this is a guy who did not know any Queen lyrics at all and had to learn about 20 queen songs in a month. That's not easy!
For us it is! We can dream those songs.
The band will get better, no doubt about that. But they should have added 2 more weeks to practise and Paul should have started learning lyrics maybe even earlier. But the timeslot may have prevented that.
For me, I have to wait till the 25th for my first gig, show 17 I guess?
After 16 shows, I can only expect a great evening :-)

I understand Basje totaly.
Thats why i wont go to any show.. I know i would compare it with the real Queen.
If i go to see a tribute band I know that it wont be QUEEN.
Then again I can understand you too Freddie.
I do hope you have a great time and i say that to all the fans that are going to a concert!

I see where Bas is coming from on a lot of points. There definitely doesn't seem to be much Freddie input into this tour so far...
For those of us who never saw Queen, it is a great opportunity to see something like Queen. But for those who did see Queen, probably nothing can compare to Freddie's stage presence. That's why Rodgers is being cut to shreds, even though Paul and the others have said he's not trying to be FM.
This isn't Queen, but it's the closest thing we'll get. Can't wait to see them.

so this a thread that started about poeoples opinions about what i believe was a great Queen show, i wasnt there but thats what iv been told, and this thread has gone from honest opinions,
"great show", "they performed that really well" etc etc
Then you come to htese last few pages and its aarguements all over again, i saw this in another thread and i got tired of it, why must we argue all the time just becos someone has had their opinion, its like soon as omeone says something different they automatically get thrown into an arguement or get insulted, its not having an opinion anymore, its childish arguements, and wots worse is when i see someone getting insulted i dont see someone havin an opinion, i see BULLYING which makes me really sick, seeing bullying on a Queen site. Its pathetic childsplay.

Basje's opinion is as valid as anybody else's. Personally, I do not care who earns the most money from the tour, I am convinced that Freddie's family does not go hungry. I did not see an attempt to deny Freddie's input but I think the tour is not meant to be a Freddie memorial tour, it's a new chapter in the Queen history and that is okay. I did not like the BoRhap thing with Freddie singing from the screen, I thought it was sentimental rubbish but many other people liked it, so it's probably a good idea.
True, they made many mistakes but we knew that in advance, it was the first show, things will get better. From the start I was not sure if it's a good idea to travel to London and pay so much money for the first show but I am glad I did. My expectations were not that high, therefore I could not be so disappointed as Basje was. And I did not see the kids crawling behind the drums :)
I would have wanted a different setlist but I can see that they chose the songs that have the most mass appeal. I also thought that the PR material and Queen material does not merge too well but that is because I am Queen audience and not PR audience. It was obvious that PR felt much more comfortable with his own songs but that will sure change in the course of the tour.
