Was one of the lucky ones who went last night, and thoroughly enjoyed every second that they played.
Support act was good too! (between songs) -
Quote;
Theres only one Pau-aul Rodgers... etc
Theres only one Bry-an May... etc!

From where I was standing, the bit where Bri "fluffed" his solo, was purely down to a technical fault with one of the guitar echoes. We could see roadies racing back and forth with gaffer tape. Great stuff that tape, they fixed it!
Made some new friends too!
Thoroughly loved it, and can't wait for Birmingham.

My turn...
having sent my younger brother to hurl abuse at eggy, confuse YV & wind up some poor QOLer in the pub, I walked round the block (finding the back of the queue alarmingly near to the front), got in, stood in front of the mixing desk and had a very good time thanks.
I can confirm that Fenderek has
1. So little experience that he really did think Hammer To Fall was It's Late, bless him...
2. A lovely companion...
As above, intro tape stupidly long...it would have been better to keep the random blues tape going until Mr MNM was ready, but I have no problem with QPR taking back that drum sound (lots of people wanting more imagination, lots of others questioning Eminem's use....)
Didn't recognise Reaching Out, but it fits with Brian's practice on solo tours of starting slowly.
No problems with set list, except guitar solo is unnecessary, although not as unnecessary as Last bloody Horizon (plus the video was cringeworthy).
I think they felt Bo Rhap HAD to be in, so found a way to do it.
As far as I noticed, PR got ONE WORD wrong (although the intro to CLTCL didn't sound right - nice guitars though).
Backing tapes...GGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Lighting Ops doing the handclaps...nice touch.
...and no parking fees!! Home by 1am.
I agree with VoR about the men in black stage left (especially the poor hobbit on bass - should have taken up a lighter instrument)

Honey, I'm HOME!!!!
God, i'm tired ...
1. Other Queenzoners
Well Jeroen, Fenderek, Your Valentin, Scully, Erik & Wife (forgot her name sorry for that)
... It was great fun meeting you all, we had a nice time
2. The Venue
FUCKING UNBELIEVABLE: WE STOOD AT THE FRONT!!!
3. The Setlist
MIH intro: god, that took a long time
Eminem: suprise suprise, but cool though
The new song: well pretty cool how Brian sneaked through the curtains and started
TIE YOUR FUCKING MOTHER DOWN: Dropping curtains, everybody on their feet ... so great
Didn't know Little Bit Of Love, but sounded great
I Want To Break Free; very cool, we shouted our tongues out, and Brian and Roger seemed very emotional by it ...
Fat Bottomed Girl: No taped intro, ... sounded fantastic ... nice mistake by Roger in one of the breaks
Seagull: didn't know it, liked it
'39: Brian took the wrong notes, but we corrected him ... and it was great (missed Roger though, but than again, it wasn't planned)
Love Of My Life: God that was brilliant ... Brian was moved, and so was everybody else ... was the empty stool there on purpose (like it is supposed to be Freddie's?)
Hammer To Fall; never my song, but this was a good version
Guitar solo; liked the video of Brixton/Buckingham Palace ... but not
Last goddamn Horizon ... no, .. they could omit that one immediately if I had a say
Days Of Our Live: Lovely, didn't mind the backing drumtrack ... the footage was great
Radio Ga Ga: Hmm, that backing track wasn't loud enough ... and too slow ... When Roger joined the tempo was much better
Can't Get Enough Of Your Love: Great song, great version ...
I'm In Love With My Car: "Wish Me Luck" Roger said ... he didn't need it, although the intro wasn't entirely correct, Roger played and sang great
I Want It All; Very good edition, Brian sang it very well (all their voices were good this night)
It's A Kind Of Magic: OK, now this didn't work out ... Paul wasn't audible and the overal sound wasn't that superb ... the lesser of the evening
Bohemian Rhapsody; magical, ... very good ... although Freddies taped vocals at the end were not easily to hear
Show Must Go On; Moderate but Paul sang it very good, ... solo was great
Feel Like Makin' Love; wow!!!!!
Allright Now: Brian started instead of the drums ... but was pretty good
WWRY/WATC: As usual, ...
One thing which disturbed me when I was at the Dominion saturday and also during the concert were the very cheesy visuals during Radio Ga Ga
But what a night ... just a couple of meters from the stage and great lighting ...

Sorry I forgot to mention you, Richard Lopata.
This was your younger brother, Mylord? And we thought it was the the nephew...
It's interesting to read all the different opinions, how obvious that you can never please everybody - I agree about the WWRY musical footage, that was very unnecessary

The tour merchadising (will post pictures of it later on my main-page) is weird and way too expensive
Which brings me to the question - will these new items be only available on concerts only or they plan to offer it on their online shop?
The gig sounds amazing. I cant believe you lucky sons of a bitches got to get close up. I'll still treat wembley as the best day of my life even though ill be watching it all the way back from block D3.
LONG LIVE QUEEN.
+ that setlisty is great

What exactly IS the merchandise?
Well, from pics which are available there are new T-shirts at least which at front have this new tour logo and at back dates for tour. I also saw few T-shits which I do not know if they are new or not, but you can't find them at QOL shop.
Empty stool ? Couldn't you see Freddie on it ? ;-)
I don't know if anybody mentioned that - Track 13 from MiH was played as intro in its ENTIRETY! 23 minutes!!! Pretty boring, I can tell you.
I'm In Love With My Car was absolutely AMAZING...
I'll maybe post more when I get some sleep... greetings to eggy, Richard Lopata, YourValentine, Rien and many others I've met before the gig...

LOL- you call it lack of experience, I call it wishfull thinking :) Pretty much the same thing in this case.
And I wasn't the only one fooled ;)
The poster stated Queen and Paul Rodgers ......
I thought tha meant I was going to see the same Queen as I did in the 70s and 80s.... But NO Freddie or John.
And I thought mentioning Paul Rodgers was the support act .......
For those that couldn't get tickets - hopefully you will be able to see one of the other shows.
For those that didn't want to go because of their priniciples and that Queen were no longer - You should get out and enjoy yourselves instead of living in the past.
THE SHOW ROCKED.
THE INTRODUCTION OF PAUL RODGERS AS LEAD SINGER WAS INSPIRING AND WORKED (a pity he did not sing lead on more songs).
Cannot wait until Wembley and Hyde Park where we will see the whole lighting set.
BTW - Eggy, did you sell your extra ticket?

Don't think anyone else answered this yet...the Brixton show was 2 hours long. They came on stage 8.45pm and were off 10.45pm. There were quite some lengthy breaks between songs mind...but not between encores where they were probably only off stage a couple of minutes at a time (probably due to time restrictions/curfew at Brixton).
Track 13 = ace,
emenem + accoustic bit = very poor
Tie your mother down = ace
CAR = ace
LOML = ace
Hammer = ace (although I thought dutch from 2002/3, whenever it was, was cack, so bit surprised!)
Bhaps = ace
Fat bott = ace
days of our lives = ace
ARN = ace (best vocal from a bad night by PR)
SMGO = not sure, good drum, but PR was rubbish
Seagul = toss, shouldn't be played again
AKOM = not sure
Radio ga ga = ace, but PR sounded inferior to Roger as a singer.
IWTBF = just alright, would've preferred fuckin' drowse or summat though.
CLTCL = just passed me by 3/10
'39 = ace
I want it all = very good, Brian sung it brilliantly, I didn't think he could sing so well anymore.
Over all there was no songs that were a surprise
- thought track list was very safe, would love someday one day, it's late, innuendo, white man, owt from Queen I,II or SHA (Brighton rock solo doesn't count).
I reckon Paul Rodgers is very uneccessary. Get a 'spare' drummer and let Roger and Brian take turns singing the songs.
I suspected PR was a cunt when he banned smoking and didn't want Gail Anne Dorsey to tour with 'em, the show confirmed this and also proved he's not really a great singer anymore.
What was that bit in 'feel like making love' when he was wailing away? I could sing better with someone treading on me throat. Ok FM's shoes are big boots to fill, but when you can't sing your own songs....
Roger won, Brain was ace, PR can fuck off and sing about pigeons.
Wanks a lot.

11:43 minutes intro from Made in Heaven...and then open a QUEENtour with Paul singing a NOT-queensong? that's 2 mistakes within 15 minutes. Not more than 3 freddie songs? 6 Paul songs? the rest all credits ( and pocket-filling ) for Brian and Roger...and no support act...and no surprises or new songs, no contact between Paul and the audience, Paul making mistake after mistake in timing and words...? Only a poor 90 minutes and 3 very predictable encores and a very boring setlist? Only trouble in a so called fans only exclusive show from wich the tickets went on general sale? And for wich we had to pay 14.95 gbp extra for special delivery that was never performed? ( had to collect the tickets myself and that took 34 minutes! )
Roger was the hero and the man of the match ! His rendition of I'm In Love With My Car, was the best and closest thing to the old days and living up to expectations of the whole evening, and that gave me goosepimples. Spike and Jamie and Miranda were a 3 man band on the side of the stage, and absolutely not a part in a team , a united band...they were merely instrumentalists to guide the band through their problems. And they were giggling between themselves all the time...separated from the other 3, of wich Paul Rodgers was more off and backstage than on stage. And when he was on, he sang it wrong, forget the words and made it a karaokeshow with the fans camouflageing his lack of knowledge of the words to the songs...timing was bad many times due to that too.... Technically zillions of things went wrong. The children of the bandmembers crawling up and down behind Roger was so annoying and unprofessional...NO. THIS was a disaster rip-off easy money show. Absolutely not Queen-worthy. I have had much more fun, and a far better show many times with Queencoverbands like MAYQUEEN for less money...with ALL the hits and more...Barcelona live etc...(www.mayqueen.de)...I suggest Brian and Roger join MayQueen to finish off the tour...then we...us...the paying customers will get more and better value for our money !!!
I hope they will rehearse seriously, add MORE freddie songs ( they must, when using the name Queen ! as freddie was Queen !!) and play more old songs, and what WE...the people that make them rich...want to hear and see them play !!!
It must be worked on. Hard! And hopefully they will have gotten it all together by the time they play Holland..that is show 18...should be better by then...i hope....
Brian's face looked very unhappy, very pissed, and very relieved it was over at the end of the show. It certainly wasn't what it could and should have been.
I will book it as the worst "Queen"- experience in 30 years i had. And i have seen them 101 times live now....From here on...it can only become better...i hope!!!
There was only one !!!!! and he is missed!!!!!
Still fan, still a lover of the Queen-catalogue, but very , very disappointed in what happened during the "greatest and most obscure comeback in the music history ever"....? no f.....g way it was!!!
I light a candle, say a prayer and hope for better shows from now on....

I feel sorry for you people that are so caught up in the past that you can't enjoy anything new whatsoever.
I've said over and over that if you went to these shows expecting some sort of recreation of Queen in their prime and the way that makes you feel, you would be sorely disapointed.
These super negative reviews are proving me right.
It seems that the people who actually saw Queen are the ones having the most negative posts.
What does that tell you.
