Just thought i'd let you know, Queen were voted 13th with A Night At The Opera on channel 4's programme "100 greatest Albums"
We love you Freddie, R.I.P
Thats really good, there was a special edition magazine thing in the newspaper(The Courier Mail, Queensland, Australia) a few weeks ago with the 50 greatest albums of all time. They even said only one album per artist with the exception of John Lennon because he had one with the Beatles and one solo and Queen still didn't get one album there. I was appalled. However, it was all compiled by one guy so it's probably a bit biased.
"The concept of Queen is to be regal and majestic. Glamour is part of us, and we want to be dandy." - Freddie Mercury
Now that was a shite program...
2 Oasis albums in Top20- this is a joke... The debut one above Led Zeppelin's IV... And even though I do like OK Computer- c'mon- that's far from being the best albume ever made!
But the most laughable were inclusions of Libertines or Outkast and stuff like that. The best album ever- watching this program was 4 wasted hours...

yeah i watched that, liked the clip of Roger swearing outrageously about Bo Rhap (thought he was serious for second there!) dont know why i watch these shows cos i know im gonna be disppointed by the fact that so many crappy new bands are actually featured in the poll. :(
"Minds are like parachutes, they only function when they are open" - Sir James Dewar
the next pollave to make allowances

virtually EVERY one of these polls are biased towards recent recordings

the whole point being that either the - poll-demographic is all younger people, or people can't be arsed to look any further back than last 10 years

look on the bright side
the queen + paul rodgers album will be in the top10 of next poll

whats a programme

Its a form of entertainment, usually broadcast on an invention called the television.
Keep Good Company
After Roger's comments ("I'm getting sick of hearing about Bohemian f***ing Rhapsody! Bohemian b***cking Rhapsody!...... just kidding") some "music expert" from the press gave their opinion of the album, praising John Deacon's vocal performance on 'You're my best friend'....

Yeah- that was funny!
To back it up they even showed the bit of video where you can really see John playing song and singing. LOL

yeah... Roger's little interview was pure class, and the bit about 'you're my best friend' made my ears prick up too... the lady said: "and then you've got John Deacon being absolutely lovely singing you're my best friend" ...i think i'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say she was speaking metaphorically and meant that he wrote it 8-) lol
Out of interest where did the Libertines finish?
Guess who's back?
I think that the programme was very good. I watched it till 10:30pm and I had to tape the rest. Coming 13th out of 100 is pretty good. I was sort of suprised that OK Computer by Radiohead was number 1. I thought it was going to something like Thriller or Sgt Pepper.
Bah, no Pyromania or Hysteria. :(

Crud list.

Any Poll that has The Smiths in the Top 20 I can't take seriously.

What are you talking about? The Smiths are brilliant. With their hundreds of songs that sound exactly the same and Morrisey's awful, droning, monotanous voice which is worse the Robert Smith's.
