On a side note to the above, on leaving the arena, I spotted 3 fire engines at the Stage entrance, so perhaps there was something behind the scenes.[/QUOTE]

Hi!
I have been back from the Manchester concert..for like 20 minutes!
It was awesome!
It was packed full.
A friend and I were in the standing area (pit) .... mexican waves rippled around the seating aread, it was so amazing.

whole gig was fantastic - lights, sound, music all amazing, PR was gone for most of the middle, but Brian and Roger proved (again) they can hold the show on thier own if need be.
Roger Jamie and Danny got a nice shower of condoms after say its not true!
Under pressure was really good...Brian introduced it saying they put it together in soundcheck, but playing it badly would be better than not at all...but it was not bad at all!
would really love to see them again!
ps - did anyone notice the cheesy country version of feel like makin love before the start!

was there a drum machine for "Under Pressure"?
The only drum-machine that I can imaginge playing UP is named Taylor.
There certainly didn't sound like any drum machines were in use for under pressure. I've got to say that Roger was on top form last night, just about blew me away with his drum work.
I'm awaiting for Manchester Online to update there site. They'll have a review of the gig and pictures on there for sure, being the official website of the local daily evening paper. I'll post a link when it's up later on.

so roger sang under press and played the drums at the same time? Amazing!
BTW: I think that the version of Hammer to Fall with Brian and Roger rocks!

dude .. he did the same thing in '86 ... Paul sang the lead, right?
Were some of you people posting here actually there?
1. The crowd went wild at "AKOM" and people got out of their seats and danced!
2. Beautiful Day remix was played AFTER the stage lights came on at the END....

I disagree with you on Magic. I was right at the back and at the top of the second teir and had a veiw of the whole arena. Now, for most other songs apart from "Say It's Not True", when lot's of people took time out to go and get drinks and toilet breaks, the arena rocked.
For Magic though, the standing section stopped bobbing, clapping and just watched. I was upset about it really, I love the live versions of this song. Even when Roger does it as part of his shows I love it. Last night, I was let down, it was not the same song I love. If anything it seemed flat, in that the the song is normally full of energy, but that just wasn't there. Others around where I sat all said similar things about Magic.
