US TOUR SCRAPPED??!!

We are still looking at options for the next leg of our tour (after the Summer outdoor gigs). We have offers from the USA, Japan, Australia, and South America ... it is just a question of how much we take on, and .... in what order. UNOFFICIALLY I can tell you we are veering towards doing a quick slam around the world first, and then coming back to do the BIG stuff in the USA later. We actually have quite modest aims ... we went into this with the idea of having fun, doing what we do best, and fulfilling a wish for those who wish it .... everything beyond this is pure bonus....

As soon as I have OFFICIAL info, you guys will be the first to know.

love
Bri

Let the "I told you so" gloating begin. I've earned it.

Put that douchebag gloating on hold. . .

If all they did in the US was a one-shot deal in NYC, I would find some way to go, though it would be quite a trip, and quite an expense....however, I would think, even if they did a relatively small tour, one of their stops surely would be Detroit...or even if they came to Chicago, that would be KINDA close I guess....
I'll take you to the Seven Seas of Rhye

I just saw Brian's website too. Somehow...I am not surprised, I AM dissappointed, but not surprised.

They will come to the USA, only a bit later.

"We are pressing the button any minute now .. ... I'm pretty sure we will see you soon in the USA. It will be a BIG thrill. We have all waited a long long time..."

Brian May on his website on April 29th - that sounded much more definite than his latest statement. I really hope for all the American fans who have followed the tour reports of us Europeans during the last weeks that the tour will come to the USA.

The Madison Sq Garden reports come from an interview Spikey Edney gave a keyboard magazine. But quite obviously, nothing has been decided yet.
I do not want any google ads here.

Sounds like they are reorganizing their plans since he mentioned they'd had "offers" from Japan, South America, Australia, and the US. Whatever they decide to take on, it would be a bit odd if they toured most of the world and completely skipped and disregarded the US since it's one of the largest countries...I'm not sure I understand why his most recent statement should be taken negatively...surely they may want to tackle the largest part of the tour at the end? It's such a huge thing to organize...

Yoy have to remember that Brian, Jim Beach will take alot of factors into account as to touring in other nations/areas like Japan, South America, as opposed to the USA.

Booking Promoter Tour revenue guarantee. Which in laymens terms means that whatever concert tour promoters Brian & QPL are in discussions with for all of these geographic markets, Brian & QPL will want a written contract guarantee of how many quality venues the promoter can book for that market, how much MONEY/RETURN the promoter can guarantee for the market...as opposed to all touring costs for Queen+Paul Rodgers (which Queen & Paul have to lay out), if the promoter can arrange a tour schedule in that market that conforms to Brian, Roger, Paul's life & work schedule that is agreeable to them, the COMPETITION meaning other toruing music artists in the market that they want to tour that will be competing for fan's dollars AND attendance in each market.

They will take all these things into account, and choose the best markets that will afford them the most return and best circumstances for a tour.

We completely missed out on the Works tour and the Magic tour. So for whatever reason, many completely justifiable from a business standpoint I'm sure, the Queen organization has shown a willingness in the past to pass up the North American market. And with this tour, we're talking about musicians in their late 50s and a singer who has his own thing going completely seperate from Queen. If something happens to Brian or Roger's health, the deal is off. If someone decides he's had enough time away from home, the deal's off. If Paul has a serious vocal problem, the deal's off. If Paul decides he's had enough of singing someone else's songs for two hours a night, the deal's off. The whole Queen + Paul Rodgers enterprise is a fragile construct, with a lot of things that could potentially derail something that's left to be picked up in a "later" that could never come to pass. I'm confident in the professionalism of all involved that they will, if at all possible, honor a gig that's already been booked and sold, which is why I'm making plans to go to Aruba in October. But as much as I admire and respect Brian May, I'm not going to take his word that they'll get around to the USA "later". If between now and October 8, there are announced dates for the US or North America, I can always cancel my flight and sell my tickets on eBay. But what I'm not going to do is be caught flat-footed if the US tour never comes to fruition.
Blow it out your ass.

I won't be caught flat-footed as I've seen two of the concerts...just hoping they get here if possible. Not willing to shell out and go to Aruba as tickets seem to be premiumly priced...
