I have downloaded almost all the torrents. I try to re-seed them as much as possible. I'm sharing, on request, lots of old torrents (like the whiteadmin announces). This is what I can do for the torrent community. It is impossible to share everything at the same time, but I let to rolate it. Everytime where I read that the downloads are stuck at xxxx%, I jump in to help.
Hopefully more people can help with re-seeding.

I always thank someone for sharing when i'm downloading.

Ratio's. Not that far away i hope. Probably about a month or so. Then we will see how we go. People with a low ratio and who make no attempt to fix this up will be banned from the tracker.

I might also add a "thank you" function. so that people who don't necessarily want to leave a message, can at least say "thanks".

This is great news Richard !!!

On a few torrents i'm under 1.0 index seeding, but I try to help the community with bringing back old torrents.

Please forgive me when I'm "quick" away after downloading. I burn all the torrents as raw folder to a backup DVD. I have already burned 15 DVD's full of queenzone torrents.

On request, I bring them back to keep "death-torrents" alive.

It is going to be easier to see which torrents are seeded / which aren't in the new system as well.

Really great Richard.
It is much easier to jump in if needed.

Not everybody is as crazy as me to burn all the raw data on DVD-recordables for the pleasure of others, so I appreciate this new function.
What is shared to the Queen community must be available for anyone, anytime.
I try to help you all with "reanimating death torrents"

Bokkepoot, I think what you do is awesome.

I'm not as organised as I'd like to think. I already have trouble backing up my own collection :)

I like to fiddle with track names etc as well, so often I ruin any chance of myself reseeding. Thank God for people like you.

I try to seed a lot in the days after I download because I know I'm sometimes no good for reseeding later on.

I'm sure, that ratio index is going to be the good step. Great, Richard.
But now it's time to be gone - forever...

What's a ratio system? How does it work? Just interested....

Will this work for rapidshare too?

When you use BitTorrent you are downloading a file and at the same time you are sharing the part you've already downloaded. Share ratio means quantity of download vs. quantity of upload. With this, you can easily see if a person downloaded many MBsbut was such a bastard to not let others download from him.

And it doens't work with Rapidshare, as you don't upload anything to other users... you can leech shamelessly with it :-)
That time will come, one day you'll see that i'll be dead and you will laugh!

I am sorry that I usually don't say thank you, it is not that I am not gratefull because I am, I think that hammersmtih audio and video are awesome.I really hope more rare Queen stuff comes out, don't let people like me keep you from sharing, it just never occured to me (which is dumb cause I am usually a polite person and all). I also agree that a share ration and even a minimum posting level would be good things. Two other bit torrent sites use those and I think it keeps everyone on the up and up and it also creates more of a community. well thats my two cents.

I try and keep my torrent window open as much as is possible while sharing a computer with others.
I am currently seeding six concerts but I never see folks downloading from me...why is that?
Is it that i have a configuration problem?
I also try to say thankyou most times but must confess that I have been guilty of not thanking folks all the time.
Anyways I really just wanted to know why I dont see people downloading from me. Any help will be appreciated.

ahhh, I see...I don't use this torrent thing anyway but isn't that a l;ittle unfair? I mean, some people could be downloading a LOT from queenzone but really appreciating it, saying thank you in every thread. They just mightn't have stuff to share that isn't already on queenzone...or they could just be sharing stuff using rapidshare...

anyway, thanks for the info!!

You didn't understand. With BitTorrent, while you are downloading a file, you are also uploading it. Basically, you have to share what you downloaded. And that is fair.

I don't think Richard need to ban persons with low ratio index.

It's an old discussion about torrents, but reasons are the same:
- connection with traffic limit
- paying for spending time in the Internet
- using non-home computer (you can't leave window open for the days, now I'm downloading Milan '84 - I've got about 60 Mbs and uploaded over 120 Mbs, but I can't leave open window anymore, though it's my home computer).
And on other hand this guy/gal would post something really rare like studio version of 'Hangman' - and he/she'd be banned because of low ratio of previous downloads? Unfair, IMHO.

There are some old torrents which can be download (thanks to seeders), but upload rate is 0, and person who's downloading such torrent would be banned? Unfair again.
