and you still wonder why I stopped sharing although I had fun doing it in the beginning?
I wonder if you remember the topic of Dennis (he's banned now) once, where he asked people to just share together.
Basically it was me and Rev doing all the uploading and once in a while a thank you dropped by.
Rick, who was against uploading Houston, eventually agreed and gave people the chance to listen ot such a great concert, but still there were people complaining cause there was a tiny error in the song 39 and the tracklisting was shite. But hell don't even dare to say htank you for giving you the opportunity to hear it.
With regards to Houston 1977, I downloaded the 6 part version and thanked Rip Van Winkle for uploading this rare gem. All the concerts I've obtained via Queenzone (including trades) I've always thanked those involved.

The only thing I can say is thank you.
My love for Queen has this big present from you guys out there. The stuff you share.

I don't post thanks anywhere - I contribute by
a) seeding EVERYTHING until it's back above 1 AT LEAST
b) trying to find interesting stuff to share
THis makes me not ideal, but my conscience is clear.
Share Ratios are not perfect, but they will greatly help - and the chances of someone being banned for uploading a mega-rarity are virtually nil, as it's not the people who have mega-rarities who are the problem.

I'm trying to leave the window open as long as it's possible, BUT I'm using computer at work- so very often more than 12 hours is not possible (overnight). BUT whenever I can- I leave it over weekend or something. And we've got a long weekend right now :)
Don't know- the ratio thing seems like a really good idea :)

I've been really bad with the thankyous, so I apologize for that, and now that I realize their importance, I will definitely change my ways.
For everyone who I've downloaded stuff from (not that many people, but that's ok), I really am very grateful for what you've given us, and I'm just sorry I didn't say so.
I think I'm pretty good with the seeding though . . . I seed overnight sometimes, and I always make sure that the amount of time I seed for exceeds the amount of time it took me to download the file.

Ratio's. Not that far away i hope. Probably about a month or so. Then we will see how we go. People with a low ratio and who make no attempt to fix this up will be banned from the tracker.
What about those of us who only use Rapidshare?

If you use rapidshare, you upload it once and everyone that wants it can take it.
If you use torrent, everyone can only get it as long as others do the right thing.

And before I forget again, I apologize for not saying "Thank you" as much as in the past. Now I'm busy and always forget to do it, but it's not an excuse. So, for the past downloads, THANK YOU.

Thank you's also help bump up topics and attract more people on them.
I think Dime a dozen only ban if a person's ratio is less than 0.25, which everyone should be able to do.
If people sell stuff on EBay I'd ban them as well.

I don't think Richard need to ban persons with low ratio index.
It's an old discussion about torrents, but reasons are the same:
- connection with traffic limit
- paying for spending time in the Internet
- using non-home computer (you can't leave window open for the days, now I'm downloading Milan '84 - I've got about 60 Mbs and uploaded over 120 Mbs, but I can't leave open window anymore, though it's my home computer).
And on other hand this guy/gal would post something really rare like studio version of 'Hangman' - and he/she'd be banned because of low ratio of previous downloads? Unfair, IMHO.
There are some old torrents which can be download (thanks to seeders), but upload rate is 0, and person who's downloading such torrent would be banned? Unfair again.
Actually Serry, your post is very well thought out. Not being able to share some "holy grail" stuff because your share ratio from before is crap is a bit unfair, I suppose. But then thats BitTorrent sharing for you.
Regarding torrenting stuff, would it not be better to stick to just flac files for audio similar to what DimeADozen does? I cant quite see the point of sharing MP3 stuff especially when they can be put up on RapidShare. That way would certainly cut down on the amount of leechers from the tracker.

No because RapidShare is nothing to do with the QZ Tracker. It is basically a file hosting site for those who wish to send large files to one another.

Yes it is nice to say thanks to all those who share their wares for us. But what would also be nice is for the uploaders to be honest about the stuff they upload.
Now here is an example of the type of person I'm talking of. I downloaded the video clip for I Want It All from Belfast. The uploader, otbennett, claimed the quality was "Excellent". However when I watched it I thought it was not excellent, just very good and gave a good critic about it. And what did I get in return? A mouthfull of shit thats what. Here's the thread http://www.queenzone.com/queenzone/forumnew/forum_topic_view.aspx?Q=535015
