Sorry but I think this is week misses Floozy.

Not to attack you personal
You started a discussion. You took an opinion wich made a lot of reply's. You couldn't say anything against most arguments decent. So you started talking bulshit. Now you are completely losing the discussion so you ask it to be deleted.
I think this is even lower than any of language arroudn here. You can't devent your opinion anymore so you want to quit it complete.

You are not being a great example for your daughter are you? Are you going to ground yourself asswel?

I really pitty this. As i said i do not want to attack you personal, but i would have expected something more grown up from a grown up persone.

I know, it's getting boring by now.

If there was a live webcast of a fight between Linda and Evil Twin medwrestling on a ring surrounded by a pool full of hungry alligators, then I'd say... LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!

I think this is really immature.
I pitty your not strong enough to accept you couldn't devend your opinion.
I have to thank you for a great discussion, but I really think deleting a topic is childisch whenn not everyone agrees.
S
Indeed deleting this topic would be childish...
And what if it went out this way? It's a free world, isn't it? Or we all have to agree with you?

THE 150th POST!

The thread should stay and everyone should be held accountable for their posts. The business of a thread being started then a request is made by the starter for it to be deleted bc it didn't go the way they wanted it to go should stop in my opinion. If it was interesting enough to go 8 pages, then it should stay. It will move to the bottom just like every other thread does eventually.

My view on this is as a whole is everyone on here is entitled to their own opinion. Everyone on here should be prepared for differences in opinions from other posters to be voiced. We are all different in how we express those opinions as well. I would just like to see us all handle the differences between us a little better. Our different takes on situations is what makes this board good. We are all individuals and all the different views on situations makes each thread interesting. I don't think we should be calling each other names. I'm all for a good debate but all the name calling gets us no where.

I though Hard Rocker was Blue eyed Floozy's daughter, not Eviltwin?

Dear Lisser.

Melissa, The fact that I want to see the thread deleted is not about who's way it goes. It's about the fact that I had intended it to be a serious discussion about something I feel strongly about. And, instead it turned into a big fight where people are being hurtful to each other. That kind of goes against the point I was trying to make, which was basically we can all make our points without being nasty about it. And to make it worse, these are kids, and the fact is they are not parents, do not know how parents, feel about their children, think they know everything, like even we adults did at their age.

I made the mistake of letting Linda get to me, that's my fault. But, I never intended for people, much less kids, to start tearing each other apart.

HR is my daughter. ET is not. I happen to know her mother died when she was eleven, and I hope she doesn't mind me sharing but I'm not sure I have a choice, She finds it very upsetting that some of these kids seem so disregarding of their parents when she would give anything to have hers back. And I'm sure she is just trying to look out for me and HR in her own way. I am just at a loss as what to do.
L
Where are the examples of children being so disregarding against their parents? Hell, where are the children? I know we have a few young 'uns here, but the parents should be at fault - and not our behavior - for what their kids do and if they're not protecting their children from the perils of the internet.

But I want examples, and don't tell me cursing is an example, because you will see cursing no matter where you go in life. You simply cannot shelter your children from foul language forever - they will eventually grow up and realize what goes on in the real world, and if foul language is the worst thing that could go wrong, then I would really like to live in that world.

The fact is that this is not reality. This all a bunch of words in virtual time and space being broadcast on a computer screen. You can protect your children from this, but just because some other parent cannot or will not doesn't mean we should change our behavior. If you want a utopia, go over to Queenonline. Everyone's happy over there, and while I have posted there, something keeps bringing me back here.

And you should not pass judgement on any of the posters in here. Linda can be very grating from time to time, and I get the feeling that she uses profanity just for the hell of it, but maybe she had a rough upbringing. Maybe it's the way she was raised. I know I was personally brought up around two parents who fought relentlessly - I witnessed my father beating the crap out of my mother at a very early age - and while I may have a bit of a short fuse, I have never lost it enough to actually hit somebody. The point is that you don't know what the circumstances are. Personally, I had no idea EvilTwin lost her mother at such an early age. I'm sorry to hear that, I really am; I know the feeling of losing someone you care about and love and respect. It's perhaps the worst feeling in the world. But who knows what anybody else is going through? Maybe there's a deeper reason for everything that nobody else is aware of.

Or maybe Linda just likes to use profanity to get a reaction out of people. Who cares? I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing, because it shows how uptight some people can be and how bent out of shape they'll get over something they'll never be able to control. If it bothers you that much, don't draw attention to it. I'm sure your daughter knows the difference between right and wrong, as you seem to be a very caring and protective mother, and she seems to respect you for that. At the end of the day, her opinion - not ours - should matter the most to you.

If you want to be a mother to Hard_Rocker, that's your decision. But I already have a mother; I certainly don't want another one here on Queenzone.

Only thing I hate about this topic is hitting page 7 link and finding out there is no page 7...blah
I still love the old board!

This is a pretty good example of what I am talking about Lester. People will take your words, my words, anybody's words, and twist them into whatever they want them to be.

Where in this thread did I say I want to be anyone elses mother?

The original question was where are the parents?

I have seen post after post here at Queenzone saying that it should be the job of the adults to guide the young. That everyone is entitled to their opinion and I have no problem with that. Yet somehow I am being denied mine?

If you want to be cussed out time after time by a 12 year old, great, wonderful, but you can rest assured it won't be mine.

The point I made to her (HR) is that if she has something she feels that strongly about, please don't follow the example of some the other very young kids on here and flat out curse at them. You can make perfectly clear what you want to say by typing F U. F#$K Off, etc.

Is that really so hard to for people understand?

Im not saying you have to do that, I'm saying that is what I would like her to do.

That I believe it is disrepectful for a child to curse out adults.

And what I see people around me saying is. No, it's all good.

just ignore the age and you can be my mother.. please... I am in need of a new one.. I have fired my last one... she failed to meet the industry minimum standards... ;-)
My Brothers and Sisters all hated me 'cause I was an only child... -Weird Al (Generic Blues) I gave up on books when 'To Kill A Mockingbird' gave me no useful advice on how to kill a mockingbird.

What exactly were you trying to achieve with your original post? I'm still a little cloudy there - was it mainly a trap to lure Linda into responding? Does it surprise you that there's profanity on the Internet or that youngsters are disrespectful?

I never understood why an abbreviation or carefully placed "#", "$" or "*" in profanity is necessary, or how it improves ones message. Everyone knows what it means, and the message does not change.

Another victory for political correctness and the nanny censors I suppose.

Blue eyed floozy is clueless. She writes her posts, and is oblivious to why many people (young and old) disagree with her.

I feel sorry for HR. I wonder if when HR is in college out of the clutches of her mother, if HR will become a blue eyed floozy sorority girl?

I recall a fellow senior in high school whose vocabulary included "fiddlesticks", darn, and "H E double hockey sticks", that changed her personality in college to something less Victorian ...

Fair enough and good point. I didn't mean for what I said to seem like a personal attack against you Blue Eyed. I'm sorry. What I really wanted to say was I want to see more of things like you posted above instead of having the whole thread deleted. It's a good thread. It didn't turn out bad persay, but you are right that it did turn in to a bunch of name calling.

I want EVERYONE to remember and be able to look back on what they've posted in this thread, not just you, the other posters as well. Some might see later they might have (over)reacted and next time choose better words?

Now here goes the preaching...

In defense of Blue Eyed and speaking also as a mother...I want to see if I can shed any light on this at all.

I am sure Blue Eyed doesn't want to take on the role of mother to any QZer. I can say it is frustrating when you are a parent and you see something in a child/teen/young adult, etc. that is not good for them. You just want to wave your magic parent wand and make it stop. I wish I had one of those wands at work too. When you are a parent, you can never stop putting yourself in the parental role of every child/teen/young adult you come into contact with that is engaging in something that is potentially emotionally or physically harmful to them. Or something that just plain does them no good in their life. Sure cussing isn't going to hurt anyone really but it's just not a good habit to have when you are a younger teenager, This is my opinion. It is a bad habit. I had the same habit until my daughter became about 18 months old and repeated every word I said. From that point on I had to be very careful on what words I said. If I didn't, she'd go to daycare, preschool, kindergarten, family gatherings, etc saying all four letter words.

I don't want to pass judgement on anyone...I just want some of the younger posters to understand why parents become so crazy!!! I am aware that I am crazy when it comes to my kids. I've accepted it. I'll do whatever it takes to keep them safe, healthy, etc. I find it so hard to put in words how I feel about my kids and what lengths I will go to protect them, help them thrive, help them become productive people in this world, etc. Sure my philosophy on raising children will never be the same as anyone on here...that's ok but it works for me and my family. The important thing is to remember how (most) parents will go to any length to protect their children and teach them right from wrong. Sometimes the children don't understand what is going on when parents are being protective or trying to point them in the right direction. I know this first hand bc my Dad was and still is very protective of me. I resente
