BPP- I thought you were about QUEEN RIP 1991
Now you're saying they should do it with Robbie. You're nothing but a foockin' hypocrite!!!

More appeal to the young audience? Maybe..
But would I want to hear few Robbie tracks at the Queen gig? Nope...
Would it be Queen + Robbie Williams or Robbie Williams + Queen?
Would you really want to see Brian and Roger reduced to backing musicians? Not really...

I think one could fairly say that George Michael was a teen idol/celebrity for the first several years of his career as well. Wham! were about as teen idol-y as you could get in the 80s.

the difference is george michael was a great singer in addition to thar.

I don't think that was obvious when he was singing 'Wake me Up Before You Go-Go'.
Blow it out your ass.

What's everyones problem with Robbie Williams?

He ain't that bad... in fact I quite like him. No offence to Paul, who I think is awesome, but I recon Robbie could command a crowd far better than Paul - and in a more Freddie like way (given Freddie - and Queen - are heroes of his). And I think it is so idiotic to say he can't sing - that's crap. Liking him or not liking him is fine, but making stupid criticisms is pointless.

We Will Rock You, vocally, mayb not be the best song he could have chosen, and apart from a few Freddie-isms thrown in, he tried to be nothing more than himself. Some of you need to realise that that is what it's all about.

He did Freddie proud out there.

i'm trying to be very positive and good natured but i'm just so compelled to say...ARE YOU DEAF robbie williams is not a strong singer, his voice is real weak, what i've heard of it. i'm not talking about his live 8 thing, i didnt even see live 8, i'm talking about him in general. he strain to hit 'easy' notes. about george michael, it was very obvious he was a good singer on wake me up before go go, i love that song because the tone in his voice is amazing. i could listen to any wham song because ghe's that good of a singer, i dont think many would disagree with that. i even like wham rap, for comical reasons more so than as a masterpiece.

How could anyone have enjoyed Robbie Williams?? He was crap! This is supposed to be a world stage, a showcase of the VERY BEST ENTERTAINERS the world has to offer. The man was completely average, he just ran around in a stupid trenchcoat imploring the crowd to 'let him entertain them'. No thankyou.

He's such a bloody average singer too. Off the top of my head - Paul McCartney. The guy is 63, it's been around 38 years since he recorded Helter Skelter and at Live 8 he could STILL nail it in excellent form. And people are supposed to accept the lukewarm Robbie Williams? Go to hell.

Finally, the suggestion that he front Queen +. Basically, you have Paul Rogers who isn't that remarkable. How would replacing him with another average singer help anything?

I was just listening to this mid 80's dance record called Mr. Bad Guy by this fellow named Freddie Mercury and he sound like he would be a perfect fit for Queen. Whatever happened to taht chap, he only made one record I think.

All I'm going to say is that Paul Rodgers is less likely to forget the lyrics to Queen songs.

Robbie Williams is the worst Freddie Mercury Impersonator on earth!!!!
I saw Queen+Paul Rodgers in concert in Leipzig and in my opinion Paul was fantastic. He's a great singer.
Sorry for my terrible english ;) Out in the city, in the cold world outside I don't want pity, just a safe place to hide Mama please, let me back inside

With Paul Rodgers they are more of a proper band. He is a great rock singer who is the same age and has worked with many of the others in the band before(though not Roger). They know each other and can releate to each other and this makes them into a band that can be creative and could go to new places musically. With Robbie Williams it would just be a big circus and I think we have had enough of those.

Also I am certain that Im not alone in being really tired of these anti-Rodgers topics coming up all of the time. IMHO Paul is doing GREAT.

With paul Rodgers they are a rock band again, Robbie williams would just be like another Five+Queen. I am glad that they are back to being more of a serious band instead of just rehashing the same hits one more time together with the flavour of the month whoever that may be.

robbie is a good singer and did well at live8 but rodgers is so much better and seeing them in manchester made my assumption he is a great rock singer
NO MORTAL MAN CAN WIN THIS DAY

I'm sure he did another album with some opera singer, her name was something like Monserrat Cabelle and im sure the Barcelona song was used for the Olympic games !!!

Paul Rodgers a ROCK legend. Robbie Willaims a boy band overhyped cunt! Taylor and May are shrewd business men to have dabble with the likes of George Michael, Williams, 5ive, Pinketc to get the cash in from the teen audience when it suitds them. However, when it comes to the crunch Queen are still a hard rock band who like to experiment, if that means make some shit records every now and then to gain more exposure,c ash whatever then good luck to them.
"Give it to me one more time!"

No, I dont think you should sack Rodgers. Queen+PR have managed to sell out the complete tour without a pop idol like robbie williams. I agree that Robbie is a good singer and performer. He would be a suitable frontman as he has the energy and talent except he's too young. The age difference most probably wouldnt work and I think it would be another Five episode where brian and roger would just look out of place.
Anyway whats wrong with Paul? The majority of Queenzone members have accepted him and everyone(including myself)who went to the concerts can agree that Paul did an excellent job fronting Queen.I think it would end up as a Robbie Williams+Queen concert if it did come to that. But thats just my opinion.
