BPP are you aware of John Deacon's comments re: Robbie Williams & WATC? Or does an informed opinion like JRD's mean anything to you?

That's what I wanted to say...
So far BPP was claiming that John Deacon is the decent one for not doing Queen + thing... Suddenly it'd be good to do it with wannabe Williams... Yeah sure- I still remember what John said about Blobbie... That was the moment when he decided it's time to retire... :S When they did WATC with him...
BPP- you're a wanker- you cannot even be consistent with what you say... You claim Queen RIP 1991 and than want them to do it with Robbie... Yes, mate- you're a true fan...

Drop the Queen name Brian and Roger and employ Mr Williams and I might just go to your gig.

I indeed think it would have been a better option. Robbie's style is way more similar to Queen's one. And he is charismatic wich Paul isn't.

BUT there would be a fucking lot of Robbie Williams fans coming up and it would make the tickets even harder to get. (they could play 3,4 night at a venue).

I think our idea of Queen is soooo different :)
IMO it's more Paul than Robbie BECAUSE for me Queen was always about live ROCK'N'ROLL- raw and considerbly heavy. If Robbie's style suits Queen for you- the queentesnece of their style for you must be radio hits and 80s... I prefer raw Brians songs and there's no way Robbie could sing TYMD properly.
AND I repeat one thing- do we REALLY wanna hear Angels and som eother Robbie's tracks on the Queen tour? I def wouldn't... In fact- I probably would give those shows a miss... So there you go- one ticket a bit easier to get ;)

Ok, even someone with the intellect of a pea, such as yourself, should be able to understand this:

- John Deacon publically announced that he thought Robbie Williams' WATC sucked
- John Deacon never commented on Paul Rodgers

Which of the two would he think was worse? You must be able to understand that it's the first one.

If you pay attention dickhead JD was talking about Robbie's version of one Queen song. He never commented about what he thought of Robbie going on tour with Brian and Roger. two completly different things.

I find it a bit strange that if JD thought Rodgers was a decent replacement for Freddie why he has not released a simple statement showing his approval. Retired or not.

Oh, and by the way:

BPP, you are a bleeding hypocrit, you know that?

First, you go round proclaiming "Queen died in 1991", now you claim Queen + Robbie Williams IS a good way to start anew. Bloody hypocricy.

Do yourself (and us) a favour, and shut up! You're only making yourself look more pathetic than you already are, and believe me, reality is pathetic enough in your case.

Read my original post first you gimp. ONLY IF THEY DROPPED THE QUEEN NAME.

Paul not charismatic?!? Are you deaf, blind, ingorant or all of the above? Paul is GREAT and ORIGINAL. He has a style of his own and it suits very well with the hard rock Queen stuff. and above all, he is not trying to imitate Freddie, unlike Mr Williams.

But I think Robbie would do justice to Queen's pop material. And that's really the problem here. I bet those people who would like to have Robbie instead of Paul are more fond of Queen's 80s style. Personally, I prefer their hard rock stuff and Paul seems to be the right man in a right place for those songs.

I think Brian said somewhere that John had written a later to them saying that he supported whatever they did he just didn't want to take an active part in it because he was tired of the public life.
Freddies mother actually did approve of Rodgers as vocalist for the tour. Also, dont know what its worth but Brian has also stated several times that Freddie also would have.
K
Paul is a much better choice because queen are, at the bottom line, a hard-rock/heavy metal-band. Just listen to their seventies albums, they are full of Led Zeppelin, Black sabbath, the Who and the Kinks influences. Or better still, listen one of their concerts, from any of their eras and what you hear is not a pop band but a hard-rock band, even if it is a very camp one.
Robbie would work, but paul is much more closer to the original spirit of Queen IMHO.

According to Brian, John supports the current tour, AND the singer, but didn't support the other things with 5ive and pink/britney etc.
K
john isnt exactly famous for commenting on what brian and roger does at all. But according brian he has approved of the tour
