I like Nirvana, but although they're overated I thought that Pearl Jam was far more overated.
I think Pearl Jam was a decent band, but I certainly don't understand what's all the fuss about them.

Limp Bizkit isn't even worth mentioning. Hating them is understood....

I like Nirvana but I wonder if the only reason I like them is because they were popular when I was a senior in highschool and those were GOOD times!! When I hear Nirvana today it brings back the good memories. We listened to Nirvana and Pearl Jam a lot. Of course we listened to Garth Brooks too!! We listened to everything and we drank everything!!!
GOOD TIMES!
Same here. Those bands bring back awesome memories....drinking beer, playing in a band, drinking more beer...lol
The whole grunge thing was in full swing when I was a sophomore and junior in HS. My two best friends were Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Alice In Chains fanatics. We had a band and we played practically nothing but grunge....of course I made 'em learn a couple Kiss and Queen songs too! ;-)

I like Nirvana's stuff but I agree that they're overrated.
As far as Pearl Jam, their first 3 albums (Ten, Vs., Vitalogy) were awesome....then they came out with "No Code" and I was like WTF is this?? After that, I lost interest in them.
Back in the early 90s metal heads were forced to change our style when grunge was taking over...
Although I kinda enjoyed grunge to some extent, it got to a point were I was absolutely fed up with depressing music. Thank God for Green Day and The Offspring for bringing punk back.

They had their one catchy rock-radio friendly song, and like many bands before them, they shot their wad with it.......
