I just finished the Book: "My Life with Freddie Mercury" From Jim Hutton, i enjoyed it but there where some details i didn't like, he could use some less details 'bout his sexlife with Freddie is awful to read..but there are also some funny facts in...so i enjoyed it most of the time...

Yeah, I agree with you. It was fun to read about the fact that he was scared of spiders (how sweet!) and that he acted like a mother towards his cats and all...

But yes, there was too much about their sex life! I would have appreciated it if he did not mention anything about that at all! Because first of all, Freddie would never have wanted that to come out. Second, it IS awful to read!

Dirty scandalous books written for only one reason: Money!!!!!
How Freddie’s closest people (as they describe themselves) can be so unrespectable to him? horrible books…

Couldn't agree more!!!!OK,we clearly understood that they were together but...this was annoying.Well,as Freddie told once he wanted his privacy, but Hutton after his death revealed all their personal life just because of the damned money...Sooooo wrong move!!!
After all,the only thing he wanted to show was HIMSELF from mentioning his sex life with Freddie...And this is awful and disrespectul to Freddie.
It's a long hard struggle But you can always depend on me And if you're ever in trouble You know where I will be

I have been looking everywhere for Jim Huttons book and I cant find it anywhere not even on amazon, barnes and noble or borders does anyone know a website for it to buy it? thanks
S
Jims book you can find in the sell out books, I have the idea that it is produced way more then it sells, a bit typical and similar to the content.

I like the books both, tho I am not so fond about the self admiring parts of Hutton, but as well as some writers here said, the Freestone book now and then is a bit soppy, in how much I love blablabla

Of course both men loved Freddie and with writing the book tried to get some money out of that, who can blame them?

They both should not fail in a queen collection, I think!

Hutton just had one goal with the book: Revenge and money.

First of all he writes in his book he's a huge Bowie fan and that he never heared of Freddie before. Bullshit if your a Bowie fan you know he recorded under pressure with Queen zo he knew Freddie. He just said that to look like he didnn't do it for the money. He didn't get money from Freddie after Freddie's death, Mary got it, so he was pissed off.

What do you me by Revenge? Freddie left jim and peter half a million each so it wasn't revenge for not being left money...Revenge on Mary for not letting him stay in the house longer maybe, i think jim knew freddie would leave most of his estate to her anyway... or not letting him ride in the front funeral car and being a down right bitch to him after freddie died. Well i personally think i'd be a bit pissed off if i were in his shoes but i guess there's two sides to every story.I remember Mary doing a huge article in Ok or Hello magizane but cant remember the content there were some fab pictures of garden lodge in it though, must try to have a look for it it's in the attic somewhere.I do agree that some of the details in the book regarding there sex life we just didn't need to know but i love the stories about all the shopping trips and how much money Freddie would blow on Antiques and art etc...

P.S Teddybear Peter does have a proper job he owns a hotel in Torquay last time i heard.

Well maybe he does, so I wish he would go back there and manage the damn thing. He has been over here in Australia promoting something or other and also his book - (I shared this interview file on the hub) - so I wish he would get back to where-ever he came from and look after his own affairs (LOL).

I just bought Jim Huttons book off amazon.co.uk However, I am slightly annoyed as the dispatch date is not until 6th September!

Most of you are ranting about Hutton revealing too much of their sex life... But didn't anyone find it extremely offensive to Freddie's memory and a gross violation of his privacy, when Hutton described in detail Freddie's last days, his sickness and death?!?

It would have been ok if he wanted to tell about his own feelings on Freddie's death, but this kind of exposure was needless. As a very private person, I'm sure Freddie would never have agreed to that. I would have rather not read about it in this detail at all.

Haven't read Freestone's book yet, even though I've had it for a while now, so can't comment on that one.

Aisha, here are the 2 interviews with Mary from OK Magazine and from The Daily Mail:

..I did NOT know Mary would not allow Jim to ride in the front funeral car, and as Freddie's partner/husband/wife..what have you..YES, that was most spiteful and hurtful.

That's likw when you read that here in the USA Gay people are trying to get a ''married rights'' type law passed so if their partner is in the hospital, sick, or dying, the partner has FULL rights to visit their partner and in attending a funeral and living will rights to their sick or dying partner.

How would you feel if you were a Real, hetro wife or husband, and your spouse died, but the family would not allow you to visit the person in the hospital or ride in the front funeral car for the love of their life? Heartbreaking and very wrong.

Can't believe she did that to Jim.

I think you are right! That was too much in detail, as well. I do not think that Freddie would have wanted people to know about the personal problems the illness caused him in the last days of his life. Those of you who have read the book know what kinds of problems I am thinking of.
