Michael Owen joines Newcastle in 2005. In 2006, Newcastle are relegated.......?

That's true. Whatever everybody here thinks, Chelsea will be champion again.

Greetings from Chile.

Michael Owen is a quality striker and will score goals period. How one year on being on the bench is half of his professional career I will never know.
He also does have a clause in his contract. Freddie Shepherd said this...

"I have heard a little rumour that Michael has a clause in his contract which states he can leave Newcastle United in one year's time," he said.

"I can tell you now that he hasn't. Of course Michael has clauses in his contract.

"In this day and age, all top players do - Alan Shearer does. But that is not one of them.

Therefore, Michael does have clauses which will enable him to move once Newcastle do not get Champions league football.
I think he should prove his worth before even thinking about wanting clauses in his contract.....
Crazy Little Thing Called Love....
To be honest, as good a goalscorer as he is, if I was a Newcastle fan, to see Michael Owen out there punching the sky looking delighted with joining Newcastle after he'd publicly stated that they aren't his first choice and he only wanted a year loan etc etc, I'd be slightly dissapointed.

But, either way, Souness will be gone soon and then maybe they can get a manger in who isn't a clueless prick always looking for an excuse. I hope that Shearer will be better for you...
like i said, we can now SCORE GOALS but NOT WIN MATCHES cos our COACH or MANAGER is the BIGGEST SHIT PILE TO ENTER NEWCASTLE since GARETH GATES did a gig there! Our so called MANAGER thinks its a better idea to SELL DEFENDERS and MIDEFIELDERS i.e. JENAS, etc and buy MORE STRIKERS! aint going to work, you need a good balance of defence, mid-field and striking, cos you should of all noticed last years season, ALL THE STRIKERS WERE PLAYING DEFENCE!had nothing up front cos our defence is that shit even sunderland could probably beat us, wait no lets not go drastic, but GIVES US A DECENT MANAGER! PLEASE!

one more time:SCORE GOALS NOW-WIN MATCHES? NE FOOKING CHANCE!

look at what i said - don't misquote me - I SAID: Treatment Bench - ie he has been fucking injured for half his professional career

why don't you check and see EXACTLY how many games he's missed through injury? - it's almost half

you are completely overlooking Dalglish/Barnes management interval and also the Gullit (short) reign

Souness actually looks OK compared to those two

It's not how many you score, but how many you let in.

Er, wasn't Bobby Robson quite a good manager?

Mourinho, Ronaldo & Van Nistelrooy all speak very highly of their time working with him.

Oh and Dudley, your comment intrigues me - what "bad choices" has Owen made?
ah, I was glad he's out of Madrid, he didn't have enough chances there, nice to see him back in the Premier, but I wanted him to go back to Liverpool
Mejor yo me hecho una chela, y chance enchufo una chava, chambeando de chafirete, me sobra chupe y pachanga Tranzando de arriba a abajo, hay va la chilanga banda , chinchin si me la recuerdan
Bobby Robson, no SIR Bobby Robson was an EXCELLENT manager when with Newcastle, or any other team for that matter, i cant believe Freddie Sheperd Fired him in the opening of the season, sure we always started badly but we always started kicking ass and came high ish in the premier league, under souness we have done the worst in many years, next year will be relegation unless souness pulls his act together with defence and mid field, sheesh..

he was fired for one reason - and one reason alone...TEAM DISCIPLINE - it had gone down the toilet.....the alleged - racism of Bowyer, thuggery of bellamy, dressing room scraps, tabloid 'roasting parties', 'young vs old players' etc etc

the only twisted irony about all this is that Shepherd appears to have confused 'taskmaster and disciplinarian' with 'hired thug' - the end result being the hiring of a manager who was a bigger thug in his day than all the bad-boys at Newcastle

ok im abit slow on this aswell but i herd we just signed SOLANO back into the team, still anyways we still gonna lose this season, and every other match we play :P
Michael Owen, from soccerbase.com:

Liverpool 01-08-1996 - 13-08-2004. Games Played
League (sub) 193 (23)
FA Cup 14 (1)
League Cup 12 (2)
Other 48 (4)

297 in 8 years at an average of 37.125 games per season, thats not bad for a person aged 17-25 during his time there.
Now how many teams play 74 games a season?
