"bad choices" mean leaving liverpool last season without giving Benitez a chance, I mean, Gerrard stayed and ended up lifting the European Cup.
This years bad choice is joining Newcastle, although I think he had to as Liverpool were his first choice and no way were we gonna pay 17 million for him after selling him for 8 and only having received 4 million thus far.

It's not how many you score, but how many you let in.
Bollocks!!!! - you can't win a game 0-0
And you can also lose 4-5, ask Tottenham fans.
Michael Owen, from soccerbase.com:
Liverpool 01-08-1996 - 13-08-2004. Games Played
League (sub) 193 (23)
FA Cup 14 (1)
League Cup 12 (2)
Other 48 (4)
297 in 8 years at an average of 37.125 games per season, thats not bad for a person aged 17-25 during his time there.
Now how many teams play 74 games a season?
you've kinda twisted the facts a little there...
this doesn't show how many games he didn't finish through being unfit/returning from injury...and also how many of thsoe sub apps were due to injury
my mate is a die-hard l'pool fan and still says that they shoulda kept fowler and sold owen becuase Owen was called 'sicknote' at anfield
I still think Owen is a good buy for Newcastle - even if overpriced.
They will probably re-coup a lot the money on merchandising, especially as he has a short name :-)

*gutted*
I love Michael Owen but I hate Newcastle with a passion. I just hope he doesn't turn into a cry-baby clone of Alan Shearer, who'll have a go at the ref whether it concerns him or not and would probably get out of the shower and run on to the pitch with a towel round him, if it meant being able to stick his nose in.

you can't be a 'good buy' and 'overpriced' - these are contradictory econmic principles

Owen is a good buy as he will do well and is a known goal scorer, even if he is overpriced compared to other players.
A bad buy and overpriced would be paying 18 million for Crouch.
'A bad buy and overpriced would be paying 18 million for Crouch'
Or £24million for Didier Drogba.
Or £24million for Didier Drogba.
no no no, £20 million for someone from sunderland!
I used to stick up for Drogba.
Then I went to White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Then I realised he is infact wank.
Absolutely useless. He's just a dirty "let's stay on the floor and pretend I'm injured after I've just missed a pretty easy goal for someone who cost £24mill" kinda player.
Chris Armstrong any day...

I am glad he has got knobbly knees - he would never had scored against Arsenal otherwise.
Apparently a guy was on Radio 5 live this morning saying Newcastle will be the next Leeds if they don't get into Europe this season.
They have massively overspent chasing the dream just like Leeds did. This guy was an expert on football finances and said Newcastle had gone way over budget getting Owen.
BYE BYE NEWCASTLE!!

"worst season for ages"
fucking hell you were getting 10,000 in the second tier before Keegan came. Learn your fucking history.
As for Owen's "bad choices" -
1. Benitez sold him
2. Beniteze wouldn't buy him back
blaming either of the above of Owen would be the mark of an imbecile. Ah. Oops. Now I see.

I cannot for the life of me see why other clubs weren't going in for him. He IS ALWAYS going to score goals wherever he is. He is a brilliant striker. Hell if PNE weren't so tight-arsed and we didn't have 'Super' David Nugent we should have gone for him.
I'm in a crisis today, i don't know who to support out of Scotland and Italy.
Ahhhhh since Juventus players are going to feature heavily in the Italy squad then i have to support them lol
