Bob, not sure what state you live in, but in my state, 4th grade is a very difficult year for the students and teachers. It is a "writing" year. They have many portfolios pieces they must complete and they are scored as "Novice, Apprentice, Proficient, and Distinguised." These portfolios follow them until Senior year. There is much stress on the teachers to get each student to either the Proficient or Distinguished level. That's probably why your son's teacher is being such a freak.

Even still, there is no reason for your son to have his recess taken for a one time, accidental outburst or a sneeze. I'd ask for clarification from his teacher on this. I think there is something missing from the story on someone's end.
