Here in North America (Canada) the only "Queen" we get is the real thing. We've never had that crap by 5ive, Electric Six, etc forced on us to taint the legacy. I love Brian May, but Hawkins is entitled to his opinion and maybe I'd feel the same way if I had to listen to one "flavour of the month" band after another butcher Queen songs with the band's approval.
On the subject of assholes ruining Queen... that Electric Six guy really should have tried "I Want to Break Free", not "Radio Ga-Ga". Say what you will about how 80's the track is, but Radio Gaga has a wonderful melody and totally does not suit that kind of singing. I Want to Break Free might have been passable with their style... but anyway.

Justin Hawkins has by far ruined Queen's legacy more than Brian or Roger ever had.
Sorry to burst you bubble 'Darkness' fans, but I have little respect for a band that carbon copies exactly what other bands have done for years. There's way too many bands who were influenced by Queen, and yet it seems like none of them sound exactly like Queen and rather have a sound of their own.

How can a tour be tiresome if people are still going to see them? Just because people aren't keen to the experience on DVD doesn't mean they won't go see the show live.
Who knows, maybe the US leg of the tour will be a massive flop. Then again, the "real thing" didn't tour here for last 2 albums, so I say great to the new incarnation for trying.

Since most of this board only functions in all things Queen, I will try to put it in perspective. Imagine the great Alfred Hitchcock directing the film 'Psycho', then 're-doing' it 3 or 4 times with the directors of Meatballs, Weekend at Bernie's and Lethal Weapon 4 because they were the hot directors of the day. Chances are they wouldn't top the iconic original, and they'd actually detract from it. That's Brian with WWRY and WATC. None of his collaborations have had an impact, or made anywhere close to a better song. So is the object to improve on a masterpiece or keep your name alive? It's the latter, and by attaching his name and performance to inferior artists who butcher key songs in the catalogue, it devalues the original. You never saw Da Vinci try to re-do the Mona Lisa or Spielberg re-do E.T. There's a reason for that.
