I agree with everything Linda has said here....and knowing her like I do I know her views on Q+PR and she knows mine. I have always said that for my perspective I don't agree with the tour in as much as the use of the Queen name, but Brian and Roger have done and will do whatever the hell they want regardless of my opinion, so I for one have not let it bother me and just ignored it all, to be truthful.
To those of you that know me well, that is not to say I have not and will not wish you an enjoyable time at the shows, I just don't wish to participate.
I do agree with Justin Hawkins' comments as mentioned earlier, he is entitled to his views but regardless of whether people agree or not with this alliance, it has happened and will continue to exist in the future.

The only collaboration I ever half-enjoyed was the one with John Farnham - and *only* for the bit where he wasn't singing. I just liked the bigger drums and orchestrated guitar. It was interesting.

Dude, Syd Barrett started Pink Floyd and not Roger Waters. Syd, along with Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Rick Wright and Bob Klose started PF in 1965 but PF officially started in 1967. Many people felt Pink Floyd ended when Syd Barrett left just as the same as those who felt it when Roger left. David Gilmour was a FIFTH member in early 1968 but he became Syd's replacement by default. DG's voice, guitar work, production and arrangement helped the PF sound become what it did. I happen to like all ERAs of PF with or without Roger or Syd. The Division Bell was the best PF album IMHO since Wish You Were Here.
I think Paul Rodgers saved Brian May and Roger Taylor IMHO! Paul is a great singer and is well-respected in the US. John Deacon retired in early 1998 after the No One But You video shoot.
Rush without Geddy Lee or Alex Lifeson would be ridiculous as they are the constants to Rush's career. They existed before Neil Peart came in but knowing Geddy and Alex if Neil died Rush would end as he is their lyrical brains and drum extraordinaire.

Many people said Genesis ended when Peter Gabriel left and when Steve Hackett left. They ended IMHO when Phil Collins left in 1996. I know Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford were the backbone of Genesis but replacing a caliber guy like Phil with a no-name dude was blasphemy.
Styx without Dennis DeYoung is sacrilege. DDY was the man who created Styx. Tommy Shaw was a second generation member and James Young was the last original member to join Styx.

With Paul Rodgers on the other hand is getting a good response. #84 for a live album, especially in this day and age is respectable as most live records don't sell really except for hardcore fans. Roger Waters' In the Flesh Live only reached #164 and many Waters fans whined when Pulse hit #1 as many hardcore fans(moi included) wanted a live Dark Side and the blinking light packaging was superb!

Actually, John Ottot is not a joke, and is one of the better drummers around at the moment. And I'm just not really into Neal Peart and Phil Collin's music. Hence it is a list of drummers I like.

John Deacon did the right thing staying away from those fiascos. Paul Rodgers is well-respected in the rock community here in the United States for his work in Free but mainly Bad Company(whom were a staple of rock radio in the 1970s in the US and signed to Led Zeppelin's Swan Song label), The Firm(his mid-1980s collaboration with Led Zeppelin mastermind Jimmy Page) and his 1993 Muddy Waters Blues tribute album which featured Brian, David Gilmour, Jeff Beck and many others plus his 1991 collaboration with ex-Who drummer Kenney Jones called The Law whom had the US rock radio #1 smash Laying Down the Law.
