We have no moderation, thus, we moderate ourselves. This is not your personal playground, nor is it mine. But, like it or not, for QZ to survive, we must police ourselves.
I never commented in your game or wrestling threads. If you choose to post in them, fine. They're harmless to me, as well as being uninteresting.
But when threads about rape occur, they devalue the whole board. It is our responsibility as intelligent QZers to point out when some users go too far.

I must say that I agree with all the voices of reason here, especially YV. I've found the board to be less and less enjoyable to visit recently, and it's not for a lack of trying - I've been posting my album discussion threads in Serious Discussion, and while some of them may have been hit-or-miss, I really do enjoy reading what people have to say about the band.
That said, I find it a chore recently to come here. There are people that I enjoy interacting with, but they are sadly the minority. There are a lot of immature people on here, both new and old, and while I'll admit to stooping to their level at times, I just can't help but shake my head in disappointment at the "Rape Roger" thread, the "Freddie & Roger & Handcuffs" thread, and various other threads in which disturbed, obsessed fanatics let loose and profess their twisted, unhealthy sexual fantasies toward members of Queen.
Even the Personal section, which I found to be enjoyable recently, has become a safe haven for Arlene to post her drivel about the most useless shit that no one in their right mind would give two farts about. Honestly, I find it absurd that she came back to this board as if nothing had happened. Although I would like to wonder how such a poverty-stricken person is able to watch "A Knight's Tale" on television and then report it as breaking news the following day.
But I digress, as Arlene isn't my main point, even though I can't stand her and find her to be a canker sore on the mouth of Queenzone. This place is becoming less enjoyable for me, and it's not because other people don't try - I understand what YV is saying, and I don't want her to take this the wrong way, because I personally believe in free speech and all that. But you've gotta draw the line somewhere, and if we don't, QZ will just continue to spiral downward into oblivion, being overrun by teenagers with too much free time on their hands.
Queen of Wrestling (a very ironic name for such a... manly sport), I find your marquee to be obtrusive and attention whoring. Why, of all the people on this board, should your justification for a marquee be so that you can find your posts easier? Do you really post all that much worthwhile stuff to begin with? Already you've littered several discussion forums here with info about your game, which could have easily been consolidated into one thread. There don't necessarily need to be rules, but there should be some sort of etiquette before posting.
It's frustrating, because I really do enjoy coming here normally and interacting with people. Not only the regulars like Sir GH, Fenderek, John S Stuart, Flashman, and so forth (of course, my sparring enemy, the Australian me - iGSM - needs not be mentioned), but also new fans hungry for knowledge about Queen. I liked it better when Richard disabled font coloring and marquees, all HTML, to be exact. It just cheapens the board and makes everything like unorganized.
Anyway, that's my two cents, so I'll just slink back into lurk mode for the time being. Ta, all.

I agree with all you just said. Although I've only been a member for just less than a year, I've found this to be a very enjoyable (and sometimes informative) place. And call me blindly optimistic, but I think the members responsible for the lunacies posted recently will leave as abruptly as they came.
